Could you live without Google (or any of its peers)?
the "arachno" part of my screen name is not derived from the biological arachnids, but the digital sort: web-crawlers. i think that should make my position obvious.

No foolin'! I learn something every day.
Didn't even have to open my Google window this time.
funny story though. if you do google "web robots" or similar searches you can come up with a list of such robots. "robots" or "spiders" are programs that relate to web-connectivity, traversing link architecture to determine various things like link-depth... things like google are essentially front-ends for these spiders. but does your average person on the internet know that? no, of course not.
to them "robot" means "chatbot" and "chatbot" means "aol instant messenger screen name." and with an "arachnophilia" robot listed near the top of that list, i find myself somewhat regularly subjected to a turing test.
for a while, i had a much more formal (read: googled) explanation of the above as my aim profile, which began with the words "I AM NOT A ROBOT." yet i still managed to get a few of these conversations a day. i'm glad they've stopped.

Re: You are so a robot
I AM NOT A ROBOT.
That's just what I'd expect a robot to say, robot.
*blinks*
I cannot believe you just said that!
