A person said that God used evolution to create life. I do not understand how you can believe this statement. If you believe in God then you must believe in the Bible. Genesis 1:20 says... "And God said, let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. you cannot believe both. Another verse, to which i apologize i cannot remember the reference states..."One cannot serve both God and mad." therefore you must choose one side to stand on. There is no sitting on the fence.

Whoever said this doesn't know jack about evolution. For one thing, the theory of evolution has nothing to do with the concept of abiogenesis.
If you believe in God then you must believe in the Bible.
Not necessarily. The Jews and the Muslims believe in the same God as the Judeo-Christian God. I'm pretty sure that these 2 groups do not hold the New Testament too highly.
"And God said, let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
Ok...
you cannot believe both.
Why not?
Another verse, to which i apologize i cannot remember the reference states..."One cannot serve both God and mad."
I'll take your word on that.
therefore you must choose one side to stand on. There is no sitting on the fence.
Depends what you mean by "mad." Could you tell us what "mad" mean? For all we know, "mad" could be refering to the Catholic dogma.

Huh?
How could this be if Cosmologists have the quark confinement dated the universe to close to 16 billion years from our standpoint?

Huh?
How do you figure that the Bible conflicts with scientific principles. Taking the Bible literal in no way contradicts scientific principles but evolutionary theory ideas/myths. Read the Bible before you comment on something you know nothing about I'm pretty sure.

Re: Huh?
May I also suggest Yankee that you slow down a bit.
You may find yourself having a tough time defending all the posts you are making.
Many of the people here are years ahead of you in the sciences you are brining up and some know the bible very thoughly as well. Don't bite off too much at once.

Yes, maybe that's because Christians "know" what they are talking about. The problem is that the Christians you have talked to don't know too much. Talk to someone who does and maybe if you are not close-minded as you seem you might change your mind.

Re: Huh?
How do you figure years ahead. Do you know what I know? I don't think so. If I make a post it is because I am absolutely sure and knowledgeable on the subject and more then willing to answer anyone's reply. I can see you did not reply to mine. May it be that you don't really know much about the Bible or the sciences you claim to be so ahead of me in?

Bible knowledge
You're right, I don't know much about the Bible. I didn't say I did. Another suggestion for you is to read very carefully.
There are many here, both believers and none, who know a lot, maybe more than you do. But perhaps you are very knowledgable about the Bible.
I can tell already that you are not so knowledgable about the sciences. There are several real geologists here. There is now a new Flood thread for you to show how much you know in.
That first question seems simple enough, just shells on mountains. I'm sure you can answer it.
Another piece of advice would be to watch out for arrogance. It will allow some people to feel ok with pulling no punchs and making things a bit tougher for you than they otherwise might. Enjoy!
Operating in Admin mode I try hard not to get involved in the actual debate. In addition there are many here who want a chance to discuss all that you posted. It isn't fair for one person to have all the fun.

Re: First Cell
This was the information I was looking for. I understand most of it, but I am not sure what the relationship is between a "lipid" and these replicating strands of RNA.
Can you comment?

That happens sometimes. You just have to keep trying. Also, you need to be careful about your attitude. Are you being sincere, or are you just conducting an experiment out of curiosity? If the latter is the case, what you have is a variable that may have contaminated the results, rather like a radio message from aliens that gets mixed up and confused with earth-produced radio messages, so we conclude, "there is no alien."

I tried for 6 years. Was that long enough?
Are you being sincere
I was absolutely sincere.

How do you figure that the Bible conflicts with scientific principles.
1. Virgin birth (23 chromosomes does not a human make.) The female egg will not form a zygote, let alone a blastula without a human male sperm. Please show evidence of how the bible can reconcile this with science.
2. Jesus walked on water : (The fact that Jesus was 30 years old give or take and was a fully formed male. The surface tension of the water would not support his weight. Please reconcile how a human male that weighs around 130 to 140 pounds can perform this. Please show your calculations.
3. Geocentrism (the concept of the Earth being the center of the universe) Please show evidence that will support this claim. Please reference any currentley observed phenomenon that would support such a claim and disprove modern cosmic models.
I am sure other EvC members could come up with a lot more "conflicts" with science. But you should be able to defend 3 points.
