Hmmm, I thought JIM's definition was basically correct while the points you mentioned are evidence in support of evolution.

I guess what we need to find out is whether JIM meant to define the Theory of Evolution, which you and others have aptly defined/described, or the word evolution (biological, that is).
They are separate entities, are they not?

Re: Amazing
Gilgamesh, I think you may be right.
quote:
He states that is still at school (?), but responds like my old wizzened church elders used to: which makes me very suspicious. I remember the feigned air of tolerance to questions, total avoidance (or appeals to faith) of difficult ones, constant descent into intellectually useless apologetics, and extraoridanry evasiveness. I still remember the uncomfortable smiles, the condescending tones and I especially remember how quick they were to anger, being "men of God" as they were.

Rei, I'm getting the feeling WILLOW doesn't know what 'evidence' is, so it's no surprise his/her experts aren't even qualified scientists. T
Though I suspect it really doesn't even matter to WILLOW - an expert is an expert.

Perhaps you could tell us what sources you are using for your own ideas please? Just so we can understand each other, of course.
It seems WILLOW's sources are:
1) Professor Huston Smith author of "Why Religion Matters;"
2) Daniel Harbour author of "An Intelligent Persons Guide to Atheism;"
3) the best preacher in the world, Dr.Gene Scott; and
4) Richard Milton, the non-creationist challenger of the ToE.
Maybe you need to read these instead of what you've obviously wasted years reading.

Re: The end is in sight?
My thoughts are that WILLOWTREE thinks he has provided that evidence, but everyone else is too stupid/ignorant/blind to see it. WILLOWTREE doesn't know what scientific evidence is and that's the problem.

As you know he has a Ph.D. from Stanford. His Ph.D. is from the university itself and not from any department which makes it the most prestigious.
Why is that more prestigious? Most universities have inter-disciplinary studies.
quote:
Comfort yourself with your standard of rational enquiry, Dr.Scott's standard is to read every book ever written on a subject THEN open ones mouth.
So are you saying that, in order for Dr. Scott to discuss creation, he read every single book written on the topic of evolution? And geology? And physics? And chemistry? And cosmology? And genetics?
quote:
Shut up punk
Nice.
edited to add:
quote:
His IQ is 202 and he is the only person that I know of who demands that nobody send any money to him unless it is in response to his teaching and to pay what you think it is worth. That is the criteria.
Dr. Gene Scott might not "demand" people send him money (I don't know of any televangelists that do, actually), but he'll sell you one of his "recently located original bound copies of his 1953 masters thesis and 1957 doctoral dissertation" for $300 a piece. Or signed for $1,000.
What I want to know is just how many bound copies did he make back in 1953 and 1957? And why would you make more than are required? I mean it's not like he knew at the time he was going to be a world famous, genius, philosophizing televangelist. Right?
