Author | Topic: Did the Flood really happen? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Biblical Flood stories are just myths and neither of the floods described in the Bible stories ever happened. In fact there is positive and absolute evidence that neither of the Biblical Floods happened since there are many cities and civilizations that existed continuously throughout the possible time periods when the stories would have taken place.
There has been continuous occupation at the current site of Damascus Syria, Jericho, Aleppo for at least 10,000 years. The current location of Athens has been occupied for at least 7000 years. The areas known as Plovdiv in Bulgaria, Faiyum in Egypt, Byblos & Sidon in Lebanon as well as many other major settlements have existed for well over 6000 years. There is absolutely no evidence of any world wide flood. PERIOD!

The folk there never noticed the flood and there is no evidence of the flood at any of those locations. Only the delusional, willfully ignorant or utterly dishonest think that either of the Biblical Flood stories ever really happened.

Faith writes: Yes, in order to argue for the [ONE] biblical Flood the secular-science timing of all those locations is disputed. But to dispute those dates requires willful ignorance or dishonesty just as denying that there are two mutually exclusive flood stories in the Bible requires willful ignorance or dishonesty. Why hasn't anyone ever actually provided any evidence to show they have more than their willful ignorance or dishonesty?

Faith writes: Well, all you have for your dates is subjective shuffling of whatever historical events you ***** you know. Yet more utter bullshit from you Faith. What we have is absolute evidence in the form of artifacts and a variety of separate lines of dating that again rely on reality. There is no question about either the fact that those sites show continuous occupation for over 6000 years or that there are two mutually exclusive flood stories in the Bible. To deny either requires either willful ignorance or utter dishonest or severe delusion to the extent of being totally disconnected from reality.

Phat writes: Would you say that the flood stories were parables and teachable moments? What was the motive of the stories being recorded? I would say they are most certainly propaganda, another Just So Story and marketing. They explain why there are rainbows but also sell the concept of an all powerful despot that can kill everything but then picked YOUR ANCESTORS as something special and so saved.

Also, it's very interesting that none of the various unknown authors that covered the events post fantasy floods seemed to notice any temperature drop. Nor does Faiths fantasy explain how a contemporary of Adam ended up frozen in a glacier long before the imaginary floods.

Faith writes: Yes but this isn't any old flood, this Flood was more like the rising of the sea over the land, and that's the circumstance in which Walther's Law does apply. But what RAZD posted is NOT Walthers law but rather simple Physics 1010. You have NEVER been able to explain how either of the Biblical Floods stories in the Bible could create millions of alternating layers of fine material and the larger material nor how either of he Biblical Floods could sort objects as found in reality. Only the willfully ignorant, utterly delusional or completely dishonest can claim there was a world wide flood at any time that humans existed.

But that has nothing to do with how a flood sorts stuff.
You need to show how your flood can sort things the way they are found in reality and so far no one has ever been able to do that. No one! Ever! Edited by jar, : appalin spallin

Remember the target example? If a claim is made that the target was hit but when the target is examined there is no hole found then the conclusion is that the claim that the target was hit is false.
But the two Bible Flood stories go further. They claim they covered every spot on the Earth; not just one target but every single target that exists. The existence of the Bible Stories is the single greatest obstacle to the actuality of either flood. Any one that claims either of the floods actually happens must be able to use just the information in the stories to explain the actual conditions found in reality. Every single observation ever made about anywhere or anything found on the Earth today. They have no wiggle room. Just one observation that they cannot provide the model, process, method, mechanism or means that explains what is seen totally and completely and irrevocably shows that the Biblical Flood did not happen. Just one single target with no hole. That's all that is needed to prove the Biblical floods did not happen.

If you would actually read the Bible 2 Peter is NOT a source for what is in the Bible Flood Stories. If you want the Bible Flood stories can be found in Genesis 6 and Genesis 7.

No one hates you Faith. They pity you and try to help you learn and try to provide actual reality based evidence for you.

Remember Faith, you must be able to explain how the flood created millions of alternating layers with a coarser material over a lighter material.
But wait, there's more... You must be able to provide the process, procedure, model, method or mechanism to explain EVERY observation found in reality. If you cannot provide a flood process, procedure, model, method or mechanism to explain EVERY observation found in reality then the flood never happened. Remember just one example that cannot be explained by the flood process, procedure, model, method or mechanism is all that is needed to totally refute the claim that either of the Biblical floods every happened.

The fact remains that the Biblical Flood stories make positive claims and if those claims are shown to be false (and they have been for centuries) then the stories are shown to be myth and not fact.

Faith writes: The Flood changed the climate, ppeople lived much much longer before than after and so on. Where is the evidence to support that assertion Faith? Unfortunately for you, we have examples of how long people and things lived going back tens of thousands of years before the Garden of Eden and all of the evidence shows that folk before either of the claimed Biblical Floods actually lived just about as long as folk did afterwards. Faith you make lots of unsupported claims but the fact remains that there has never been a world-wide flood at anytime humans lived.
