The proper plural of "species" is "speciei."
In Latin, maybe, but not in SCIENCE!, in SCIENCE! the proper plural is species.

"Myanmar" when they mean Burma? (If you pronounce it quickly and a bit sloppily you can hear where "Burma" came from.)
I was under the impression Myanmar was what Burma was renamed to by the military junta; rather than Burma being a westernisation of an original name.

Looking at Wikipedia, Burma is a westernisation of 'Bamar' which is a dialectal variation of Myanmar.
