But I do have opinions. About debate versus discussion, it seems it could go either way. There's the conservative/liberal dichotomy that parallels creation/evolution, but in general there seems a greater variety of possible positions and views in politics.
I don't have any positive suggestions, but one thing I will suggest is that any name or layout evoking the liberal/conservative divide should be avoided like the plague. It frustrates me so much that, due to the English-language internet being dominated by Americans, all political discussion forums seem to wind up falling in line with this same vapid distinction. Conservative/liberal describes socially created ingroups in American society, not coherent political positions, and the endless harping on about it and reification of these concepts actually makes talking politics with many Americans really difficult.
