Savage recently had a profesional psychiatrist on who downsized savage's 90% to about 50% of alleged autism diagnoses as bogus. That' still very significant.
Only if the Psychiatrist is not a hack or on the fringe (lunatic fringe...?) and his views are backed up by the majority of his peers and the evidence. True, sometimes the minority view of some sciences has some merit (I could name a few, but i dont want this debate to get sidetracked. Can look at the Bigfoot thread though for one, but please all stay on topic), but they actually go by true evidence, and unless this shrink has it (and not something cooked up by Savage and some conservatve thinktank who want people like me locked up in loonry bins or get no help whatsoever)then it is bogus. We need to see a peer reviewed source that backs up this person's claims, one that is not heavily challenged by otghers.
As i've contended, Savage is no dummy, though in this case, perhaps he exaggerated the extent of the problem
What you call an exaggeration, i call a slap in the face.
