Always define your abreviations, then feel free to use them
Personally I don't have a problem with using shorthand in a long post with many repetitions of it, as long as it is defined or noted early on what the shorthand relates to.
Absolutely agree.
Other abreviations:
AM - Activity meter. That color bar under the topic titles. This abreviation has spawned a bunch of "what is AA" type topics. The meter indicates the number of messages in the past 48 hours. It pegs out at 50. Occasionally also AM = Adminnemooseus.
PNT - Proposed New Topic(s).
POTM - Post(s) of the Month.
PAF - Private Administration Forum.
GC - A must define abreviation. Used for both geologic column and Grand Canyon.
