a person in pvs brought on by a damaging blow to the head is not going to come out of it
{pvs = permanent vegetative state}
I want to know the stats on recoveries from long term coma/pvs... we hear of many miracle cases of patients re-emerging from such states after long periods in stasis. How do these compare to the number of cases that just languish until power-off? Obviously it is difficult as after power-off we have no way of knowing whether they were going to recover the next day! But some thoughts and/or stats would be interesting...
