LOL
But many of us also keep pointing out that YOU keep misrepresenting what the Bible actually says and perverting the stories. AbE: There are several stories in the Bible (mutually exclusive stories by the way) that use creation as a plot device. In the older story found in Genesis 2&3 there is a character called Adam and one called Eve, BUT in the much newer story found in Genesis 1 there is no character called "Adam" rather there is the term for Mankind, male and female and encompassing an unknown hoard of folk. No Eve rather just male and female humans. Therefore the Bible does not support the concept that there was any "First man" or "First woman". But the two accounts are mutually exclusive and you are simply showing once again that you have not read the Bible. Both the order stuff is created as well as the methods used are as different in the two stories as the two different Gods described.

What's funny is that there is the genealogy of Jesus from Luke. Of course Matthew has a whole different genealogy.
Funny how that works. And there is yet another option to be considered and that is that Jesus might have believed there was an Adam; after all we've learned a lot since Jesus time. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Do you consider it a small thing that Jesus Christ seems to have regarded Genesis as history ? Actually, the author or authors of the Gospels had the character Jesus in their story say what sounds like Jesus believes Genesis is history and of course, it is a very small, insignificant even factoid. First, we can be sure (with a very high degree of confidence) that even if Jesus actually existed that none of the quotes found in the stories are correct and verbatim; there is simply too many instances where the details contradict each other. In addition, we can see the supposed quotes evolving over tim as each author revised things to fit his (or her ) perspective and purpose. But the big reason is that if the stories of Jesus are to have any worth or value Jesus would be as ignorant about the fables in Genesis as those who lived alongside him.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Actually, according to the Bible Jesus was not all that perfect.

My full quote was "But the big reason is that if the stories of Jesus are to have any worth or value Jesus would be as ignorant about the fables in Genesis as those who lived alongside him."
And it's a subject I have covered here many, many, many, many times and also unrelated to the topic. But if you really are interested then I'll go over it again. Let's start with the Nicene Creed which predates most if not all of the different Canons and Bibles.
quote: Please note the highlighted text. "Was made man." Not part man and part god, not god disguised as a man, but Made Man. In the new Liturgical translation it goes even further and says "and became truly human. " Now if Jesus while alive and living among us was part God, then the whole thing becomes pretty much a joke. Humans can't really kill a God and a God facing death is pretty much just a laugh and a God coming back to life no big deal. Gods by definition do shit regular humans can't do. There's no real sacrifice there, just a carny-con job. BUT... a God becoming truly human, unable to control his bowels, having teething pains, needing to learn to walk, talk, go potty, tie laces, get dressed, use a spoon, now that would be a real sacrifice. Jesus the human can teach us what a human can become. Jesus the human would have no more knowledge about stuff then all those around him and would see the mythos of his society and culture like all the others. He might see it as fable but since it was familiar use it just as we might use a reference to a Batmobile or someone's Spidey Sense. If the story of Jesus is to have any real value beyond a con-job then Jesus must have been fully human while living among us. Being fully human would mean his knowledge and ignorance would be very similar to those around him.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Hundreds of millions of Christians accept Evolution ! So what ? Millions of Christians accept the worship of Mary too. Yet another example of you simply believing the falsehoods taught in the Christian Cult of Ignorance. While the first statement is true (it is only the Christian Cult of Ignorance that does not accept that evolution is a fact and that the Theory of Evolution is the ONLY explanation known) there is almost NO Mary worship in Christianity. If you were not so ignorant of Christianity or had ever actually read the bible you would know that.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Club Christian and the Christian Cult of Ignorance are not synonymous.
And as usual, you simply deny reality and facts. Roman Catholics do not worship Mary. That is just a falsehood indoctrinated in the Christian Cult of Ignorance.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

jaywill writes: Not that simple. To the thief you are HERE for the purpose of providing him with some money. The means by which he obtains it does not matter. Now which one of you is right ? Is it your reason for being here, or the thief's reason you are here ? I mean if man is the measure of all things - which man are we talking about ? Sorry but that argument is as stupid and sophomoric as using Rand as a guide. Right has almost nothing to do with anything and no man really sets rules of behavior or conduct, rather just as in the Bible, it is societies and cultures that determine acceptable behavior. You really haven't read the Bible have you?
jaywill writes: While an evolution theory may contribute to some medicines it has also contributed to the barbarous eugenics, slavery, national policies of racial superiority, genocide, execution of retarded people. Well, I was wrong. That argument is even dumber then the former. Don't forget that religion, particularly Christianity also played a major part in all of those things and the Bible is replete with examples of genocide and ethic superiority and was a major justification for the genocide committed by the USA.
jaywill writes: But if there is no purpose for all of us being here, I guess it really doesn't matter in your outlook - medicine or no medicine. You're on a roll. Amazing. No one said there is no purpose, rather we each create purpose.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

There is also the dolt of a god in the story that should be a clue that the story is not about creation, not about god but about mankind.
But to return to the story, of course we are not all descended from Adam and Eve. Adam and Eves sons found wives and so there were contemporary women outside the A&E family group and if there were girls outside the A&E family group there were parents outside the A&E family group. To claim that we are all descended from Adam and Eve (who should really be Steve since it is just a clone) is just another example of misrepresenting and perverting the Bible stories.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

The god character in Genesis 2 is not very bright is he? Read the story. In the Gen 2&3 story the god character makes a little mud figure and then animates it and sticks it in a garden as the gardener. The he realizes he didn't make a helpmeet for the critter and is clueless of what is needed so he brings in all the different animals to the gardener and gets him to try them on. Come on. You gotta laugh at that character. "Hey Adam, did you get lucky? Yeah, I know blind dates suck but I know this she-goat that is outta this garden. Or do you prefer something like a tigress? No? Man, you are really hard to please. I suppose you want someone just like you? Well, tell you what, go to sleep and I'll make you a Clone of Your Own. ... (while Adam sleeps we hear god singing ...)

Joshua's army had rocks falling from the sky at one point to assist him in his defeating of the Canaanites. Could have been pure miraculous, could have been a meteor shower. Except of course for the fact that there was no conquest of Canaan as described in Joshua. Like the Biblical flood and the Exodus and the Garden of Eden story, all myth, no reality. And again, even if the GOE story was true, we would still likely not be descended from Adam and Steve.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!
