Politics Discussion Board

I don't have any positive suggestions, but one thing I will suggest is that any name or layout evoking the liberal/conservative divide should be avoided like the plague. It frustrates me so much that, due to the English-language internet being dominated by Americans, all political discussion forums seem to wind up falling in line with this same vapid distinction. Conservative/liberal describes socially created ingroups in American society, not coherent political positions, and the endless harping on about it and reification of these concepts actually makes talking politics with many Americans really difficult.- caffeine, sitting in a country in which the biggest party in the lower house describes itself as 'liberal conservative'.

Just one brief comment on my first encounter with the board: What a horrible insult to the English language. What's wrong with 'emailed'?

Don't worry - I wouldn't call it a major flaw with the site. It just irked me on some level.
