Another nice instance of why Truthers are just like creationists ... and vice versa.

Interesting. I only read the first 50 messages, but Zeuzzz seems to be holding off all detractors.

THAT was great. Exactly what I have always been thinking (why all this incredible complexity, while planes hitting the towers was more than enough to get the escalation that was supposedly the goal of it all), but worded much more effectively, lol.

The more interesting conspiracy theories relate to microwave weaponry. As an asise, and yes this is from a movie, but in the movie the Valley of Elah or something like that, there are bodies burned but not the clothes......I suspect this is rooted in some sort of story about weaponry used in Iraq such as microwave weapons.
Not to get off-topic and I don't yet buy the Truthers claims, but there are some uncomfortable facts from my reading of what occurred at the Twin Towers (some of the metal burned on cars for example but not some other parts that would normally burn first from heat).

BBC announced the collapse 20 minutes before it happened. 6. The building collapsed in a fashion similar to that of a building being demolished. 7. It obviously wasn't the pancake theory because it collapses from the bottom. 8. No steel building that big has ever collapsed in that fashion ever in the history mankind. Forgive me for not reading the whole thread, but do you have a link to the BBC claim? And yes, it fell like a demolition. I don't know if that means it was, but there are questions that ought to be raised and answered, imo.

In defense of your claims, it wouldn't have to be too many people as some claim. It certainly raises an eyebrow that we were conducting a security test at the time for planes crashing into buildings or similar attack and so grounded military planes.
a coincidence? at a minimum, it suggests that the terrorists were aware of what we were doing....that there were leaks....could have been more perhaps.

And randman presents us with yet more reasons why Truthers are like creationists. The unreasearched, unreferenced claims, the unsubstantiated suspicions, the sudden access of expertise in a subject that he's never studied, the conflation of "looks like" with "is", the belief that everything he can't understand proves him right, and the adherence to mutually inconsistent hypotheses.

This *is* a conspiracy theory thread, after all. Please, let's discuss the topic and not the people discussing the topic.
It might be interesting if someone were to propose a topic to explore the kind of mind or the kind of thinking it takes to believe the world is significantly affected by secret conspiracies.

It's wierd, isn't it, why would someone go to the trouble of demolishing the twin towers AND fly an aircraft into each?
There are 10 kinds of people in this world; those that understand binary, & those that don't

I've studied it more than you think, Adequate, and while I don't buy it, I do think there are serious questions that have not been answered.
If having an open mind to truth and facts distinquishes people like me from evos, then I'll have to agree with you.

quote:Speaking of microwave weaponry, in WW2 while the Americans were island hopping their way to Japan, the Japanese military was working on a real world "death ray". Their goal was to be able to aim their "death ray" at an American warships and literally cook American sailors on those ships. They ran into a really big problem, though. In order for microwave technology to send out that strong of a microwave at such distances on the high seas they needed a power source that was way beyond what the 1940s had to offer. But now that we're in the 21st Century...

It might be interesting if someone were to propose a topic to explore the kind of mind or the kind of thinking it takes to believe the world is significantly affected by secret conspiracies. How do you define a secret conspiracy? It is a known fact the world is affected all the time by secret conspiracies and anyone denying that is extremely ignorant of history. Japan's attack on the US that dragged us into WWII was a secret conspiracy, as was Hitler's attack on Russia. Those specific conspiracies have had a massive effect on the world. Conspiracies occur all the time and are a large factor in global affairs and business. Moreover, some very wild "conspiracy theories" have turned out to be true. MK-Ultra is a good example. If you didn't know it was true, admitted by the government and the CIA, and even if you do, it still seems so far-fetched that it's generally still considered a conspiracy theory. Air America being involved in drug dealing is still considered a conspiracy theory, though true, as are many facets of Iran/Contra. Clinton taking bribes from China is considered a conspiracy theory by many despite the fact they were caught and returned some of the money. In fact, one good way to get away with something at the governmental or psy-ops, covert level is to do something in such a weird, outlandish way that no one would believe the truth if it comes out. I can tell you we run some very strange operations in covert campaigns of pychological warfare.

These types of weapons have definitely been developed and deployed though the media reports mention it's more for non-lethal crowd control.
What's scarier are the reports of scalar weapons (Tesla-type technology).

Seriously if you've taken any introductory college science course you would know that this statement is true. Whats great about science is that it is always subject to change because of new information that we discover over time. Facts are not subject to change. There are theories in science which try to explain a specific phenomena. There are very good theories and also very bad theories. Gravity is one in which i think we can rely on 99.999999% of the time. Albeit it is still a theory. Currently both theories on the Truthers side and the government are both pathetic theories. The data that backs up both sides is very insignificant, which is why we need to push for a better understanding of what happened that day where thousands of American people were murdered. A good inverstigation has not been done.
If you are telling me that a 50 story building with an extremely strong frame collapsed in 6 seconds due to fire is a fact, then you need to change your mindset. Scientists ASK QUESTIONS and gather information even if we are almost 100% sure about a theory. Now if you've taken any physics at all throughout your life you would be sceptical considering.1. WTC 7 WAS NOT hit by a plane. 2. It fell in 6 seconds, which means there was absolutely no resistance throughout the building. Pancake theory is a joke, lol. 3. The melting of steel does not all the sudden destroy the whole frame all at once. If it did melt the steel, it would have been a gradual process that takes hours. Not 6 seconds. 4. Several explosions were heard and recorded. 5. The owner of the building himself said they "pulled it" Now if you look at all these reasons wouldn't it be a reasonable idea for us to research more? Data gathering is something that never hurts anyone. You Dr Adequate are stuck in world where only your own opinions matter, and can not be open to any new ideas for fear of being wrong. Grow up.

1. WTC 7 WAS NOT hit by a plane. No, much worse it was hit with 2 buildings
2. It fell in 6 seconds, which means there was absolutely no resistance throughout the building. Pancake theory is a joke, lol. I agree, but it was hit with two buildings.
3. The melting of steel does not all the sudden destroy the whole frame all at once. If it did melt the steel, it would have been a gradual process that takes hours. Not 6 seconds. It gradually melts the steel and then hits a critical point 'cause it was hit with two buildings.
4. Several explosions were heard and recorded. I wonder if the fuel that started the fire is explosive?
5. The owner of the building himself said they "pulled it" This one is the best part of the whole WTC 7 business. Seriously, when was the last time you saw fireman asking the owner of a building for advice on how to deal with a fire?
Data gathering is something that never hurts anyone. Get started then.
