They threw the Maps away. No. The Maps are all man-made. Some mapmakers claim that God "guided their hand". Greek mythology is a Map, but it was not given out by God. It was made by Greeks. We all are. We all have to compare the Map to the Territory on our journey through life.If a Map claims that the Territory will self-destruct in 1914 and it doesn't, it's not very accurate. **shrug** Nobody's trying to "compell" you.

If you expect to find a big red line between countries, you will be disappointed. If you expect the capital of your country to be shaped like a star, you will be disappointed. That doesn't mean the Map has been "refuted". It means you don't know how to read a Map. You compare it to the spiritual Territory. If it doesn't match the Territory, you try a different Map, or you become Magellan. You're illustrating that very well. There can not be any communication unless the receiver is turned on. You have to pay attention.

I don't think "only a select few have that privilege".I think I have experiences that are very similar to jar's, but I don't necessarily think of it as God talking to me. You probably have silmilar experiences too, but you don't think of it as God talking to you.Whether it "is" God talking to you or not is not important.We all have the same "inputs" (even if those inputs are generated by our own brains). Some call it the voice of God. Some call it intuition. Some call it something else.No need to make an issue of it.

It's been very cold here lately - minus 25 (Celsius) with a wind-chill of minus 40. The birds line up on the window-sill to wait their turn at the feeder and to take advantage of the warmth coming through the glass.Yesterday, while I was washing dishes, a sparrow was looking right at me, not three feet away. We had a moment of communication, big-brain to little-brain, flier to walker.He wasn't speaking English.

Second-hand reports?The ones in Message 18 could be exaggerating, lying, deluded.... We don't know. We can't treat hearsay as evidence.The ones in Message 8 are people that I "know" - and I don't recall them claiming that God speaks to them audibly in English.I think you're being too literal-minded.

Did I say either of those things?I think I said that all human beings tend to have the same kinds of experiences. Some people interpret some of their experiences as "God speaking to them". Others interpret the same experiences in different ways. Why would God speak to us in plain English? I don't think Gasby suggested that God spoke to those EvC members audibly in English. I don't recall any of them saying that and I do seem to recall some of them saying that it was not audible English that they interpreted as the "voice of God".We'll have to leave it up to them to clarify.
