I don't buy it
I will be interested in seeing the evidence for this.
I believe the Shroud is not the actual burial cloth of either Jesus or anyone else for that matter. If it were, why would the blood have only stained the front of his face as opposed to the sides of his head as the material draped over his face? What I mean to say is, the image is 2-Dimensional, as opposed to 3. I think the evidence supports that it was painted, perhaps even using human blood to give it the appearance of authenticity. Take a damp cloth with an agent to die to the cloth and drape it over your face. When you open the cloth and stretch it out, the impression will not merely stop at the front of your face, but will wrap around the side of your head, distorting the image a bit.
Anyway, that's my take on it. I don't buy it.
