You wouldn't be critically assessing God. At that stage you don't know that there is a God. What you need to critically assess is the evidence.
Most people just go with the flow (do what others around them do), without any critical assessment.

I have made my critical assessment of the evidence. But I won't post the conclusions because I prefer to keep my religious views private.
