You're comment about "sometimes between theists" doesn't really cover it. This is a debate between Biblical literalists and non-literalists (of all stripes). It is between those who think that religious ideas should be introduced into science classes and those, of all beliefs, who don't.The non-literalists camp includes every type of belief from very devote believers (specifically Christians are included) to militant atheists and everyone in between. Here, in this forum, I would guess that the atheists/agnostic camp is greater in proportion than in the general population but the arguement is not split that way either here or in society as a whole.

Exactly!! With that message why would everone get in a knot over a flood or the age of the earth (which the Bible doesn't give) or the unfolding of life on the planet, which the Bible doesn't discuss.
