Take the Atheist Challenge!!!

I propose to all of you who claim athiest views to take a challenge. You must be truthful and courageous though. I say that many of you can be converted to christianity and will be. You must be honest with yourself and willing to truthfully try. Not just talk it but walk it. I challenge you all to read the book of John start to finish as many times as you can for one week. Every day before you start reading and after you finish, say a prayer asking for direction, proof, if you're real then answer me in some way, etc.... Let me add God doesn't speak verbaly anymore as far as anyone can say so I wouldn't expect something like a loud voice to speak to you. But when you have an open mind and are willing to allow God to speak to you in his way he will. It may be a friend calling you up and talking about the very thing you prayed about giving you the answer to a question or something you are reading. If you ask for him he will be there for you. An atheist actor from California, hmmm...... never thought I'd see one of those. This isn't a thread that I wish to discuss disbelief in rather I want others to try something and hear back. If you aren't willing to try so be it. And I'm not being abnoxious or anything else and I never called anyone lazy. If you wish to speak for me then it should be in a believing way (christian). And others already know how I feel about those who say they tried it. I say if you have an open mind and want to find God then he will come to you. If everyone wants to take the opportunity to bash god for there problems or talk down to LAM or NFORD for giving it a real chance then go ahead I can't stop you. I just think you are cowards for talking smack and not really trying to see the truth. As for Nford (?name) I'll pray for you like you asked. As for the others asking me to give up god for a month. We could start quoting biblical passages to prove christian points but why? You don't believe anything it says anyway. SO how exactly are we to expect you to have an open mind when you keep opening your mouth (typing) and prooving otherwise. You DO NOT believe there is a god so why should he speak to you. There are passages in the bible that refer to that exact thing. (If you want to know what they are ask and I will provide.) This topic was for those who wish to ask truely for Gods guidance and such to do so in hopes they may find the truth. Try not to lump us (christians) into one big group. As you have seen there are many veiws to one topic. I don't claim to know it all by a long shot. I (personally) base my morals, ethics, and such standards on biblical understanding. If others wish not to believe as I then so be it. I'll try to help inform where I can and when asked but I don't think we will ever get everyone to believe the same at the same time. Not until Christ comes back to judge anyway. The noone gets to deny, you just get judged. Prepare yourself. -Z

The thread wont help. My point is (however the solar system started) it had to have a beginning. A cell doesn't come from nowhere. A rock doesn't form from nothing. At the very basics the start has to have a starter. It cannot form from something unless the something was formed by something. Kinda catchy huh? Gotta song in there somwhere. Why do keep saying I'm refering to evolution. I would really like to know where in the quote to which you were refering I mentioned it. I was speaking of the beginning of the universe with LAM I was not talking about how things came to be after that. The BEGINNING is what was being refered to here. Don't read things not there.

My "criteria" is to sit down and say a prayer to God. Ask him to come into your life. Read ANYWHERE in the bible. I won't even make it the book of JOHN it really doesn't matter. The whole idea behind this for me was to get people that had little or no faith or belief in GOD to ask him to come into there life and give them direction. That's all. Open minded to me is how I try to get some of these people to stop talking negative about this challenge and just try it. If they just say "hey god come into my life" in a joking matter like they aren't doing it but they are doing it just to say hey Zach I did it and nothing happened. I say they are not being open minded. I say they are getting in the way of others that may want to get something out of this. I hope that helps. -Z
