Actually the Harun Yahya operation seems to crib most of their material from ICR. The biggest difference between the Harun Yahya machine and ICR is that the Harun Yahya people seem to look more towards the old earth form of Creationism than the classic YEC position. But they both play fast and loose with both their quotemining and translations.
The claims, of course, are as silly as those made for the same material when it's quotemined out of the Bible. First, even if they did happen to be true, they say nothing about the existence of God. The fact that there is something that happens to be true in a story, novel or book says nothing about the source of the material. The majority of the quotes on the Harun Yahya site are simply wrong. Either they misquote the qur'an, misinterpret what it says, or take the verse out of context changing its meaning. It might be worthwhile, though I doubt it, to begin with the very first quote and then work through them one at a time. I doubt it though because the Harun Yahya folk learned at Gish's feet and they also have the advantage of learning from the Dervishes. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

quote: That is not stated in the Qu'ran at all. The verses quoted in Harun Yahya's web site says no such thing. "We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the same sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart." -- H. L. Mencken (quoted on Panda's Thumb)

NO, i have read the original text and it means that Dul'Quarnayn who observed the sun set (from his point of view it looks like it was sinking in the earth).

I tell you something, your just doubting the validity of the site and if you havn't enough i can gladly send you many other sites that contain the same meaning. By the way all of Qur'an says that God exists so what you talking about.
As long as you dont know the original context then dont doubt it cuz you dont know anything about Qur'an. I do know and the original perfectly matches the Harun Yahya site. The quotes are clear but it is those whose hearts are blinded can see no truth.

It makes no mention of the "setting place" of the sun?
I doubt that it's translated that poorly, they've had more than a thousand years to put together an English version. I can't find any English version where that verse is translated differently. Skeptic's Annotated Quran The Skeptic's Annotated Bible has a section on the Quran if anyone wants to take a peek.

What do you say about the verse that says the Forlock (the frontal part of the brain) is responsible for planning and sinning as proved by modern science?

Let me guess, this is translated wrong as well?
2:6 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not.Don't bother to warn the disbelievers. Allah has blinded them. Theirs will be an awful doom. 2:7 Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom. According to the English Koran, you're wasting your time.

What do you say about the verse that says the Forlock (the frontal part of the brain) is responsible for planning and sinning as proved by modern science? I would say that the forlock here is talking about hair, not the brain. 96:15 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock -96:16 The lying, sinful forelock - Kinda hard to grab somebody by the brain.

A forelock is a lock of hair, not a part of the brain.

dont you see the phrase: "lying sinful forlock". This is a hint to the frontal part of the brain so understand the verses be4 you reply.
By the way, if you'r saying these aer all hints do they all came so well by coincidences?

I'm getting my verses from
http://www.hti.umich.edu/k/koran/browse.html The university of Michigan Although I'm finding some of them through the SAQ... They both match qord for word, from what I've seen. I have a Koran at my house too, I'll bet it matches that too.
