Why shouldn't I murder somebody if I profit by it and get away with it?
If you allow killing for profit, everyone becomes a threat. You end up having to spend considerable resources on defense. As you can't trust anyone not to stab you in the back (literally), there's no cooperation, so you lose the efficiency of the division of labor.
Killing for profit simply isn't profitable.

So the injunction against murder is based upon this moral rule:
Thou shalt not do that which isn't profitable.
I don't see any reason why I shouldn't do that which isn't profitable if I want to.
That's self-contradictory.
"If I want to," can be restated as, "If I value doing so;" so the profit in doing so is intrinsic. It's not the specific type of profit that I was referring to, but it's profit nonetheless.
Anyway, I was just pointing out where your rule would lead. I wasn't positing one of my own.
