Can you imagine if he had middle eastern heritage and spent time in jail? Conservatives would sink their teeth into it. The whole family would be plastered on Fox News for a week.

I read somewhere this morning that what we need is to make bump stocks legal for thoughts and prayers. That'll fix the problem.
"The Christian church, in its attitude toward science, shows the mind of a more or less enlightened man of the Thirteenth Century. It no longer believes that the earth is flat, but it is still convinced that prayer can cure after medicine fails." H L Mencken |

26 killed at Baptist church in Texas Hardly worth a mention. Not including suicide, accidents or the police there were approx 172 people shot today in the US...and yesterday and the day before. That is about 6500 since the Vegas massacre with about 1200 fatalities. Carry on.

Hardly worth a mention. Representative Ted Lieu, a California Democrat, had his own "this has happened again" response: ‘I can’t do this again’: Why a congressman walked out of moment of silence for Texas victims --Percy

Yes we have had enough moments of silence. We need some moments of outrage.
edit Respect for the dead for sure but how about some respect for the living. Edited by ProtoTypical, : No reason given.

We need some moments of outrage. So what or whom do we get mad at?
I wouldn't call it respect for the dead if there is a refusal to attempt learning and preventing the tragedy that caused the deaths. Everyone is reading about it. Thoughts and prayers abound. But legislation is as usual up in the air. We need consensus. Edited by Phat, : No reason given.Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. But legislation is as usual up in the air. No, it isn't up in the air. One party controls the legislative agenda, and their leadership has no intention of introducing anything.
We need consensus. We have that already. Must gun owners are in favor of common sense control measures that would be an improvement over what we have. But that consensus will never be acted on. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. One party controls the legislative agenda, and their leadership has no intention of introducing anything. Well, if nothing is done after a mass shooting in conservative Texas at a church and involving innocent children as victims, nothing will ever get done.Chance as a real force is a myth. Well its perfectly clear what went wrong. Firstly the peole in the curch where not praying hard enough we need more prayer. And secondly they should have been armed the more guns there are in the world the safer we are.
Christianity, One woman's lie about an affair that got seriously out of hand What are the Christians gonna do to me ..... Forgive me, good luck with that.

I feel that if we as a society can not abide and enforce the laws and regulations we already have on the books; we are in for more and more loonies doing shit like this That mouth breather should not of been allowed to purchase a gun.

Sounds like an oxymoron to me. The most obvious common-sense measure is don't have guns. That's fine. Then consider "common sense measures" to be US "code words" for doing background checks on all gun sales, not giving guns to folks who have mental illnesses that dispose them towards violence or who have already committed acts of domestic abuse. ...nothing will ever get done. I don't think that is true. There must be a limit to what people can tolerate and when you have had enough then speak your mind and be heard. Voices accumulate.
