Re: Questioning my sanity
I have noticed this transformation in your attitude. I found the transformation rather interesting, and it impresses me that you are able to verbalise it so nicely.

One thing that definately has changed for me is exasperation about the 'Satan' card.
Well, in the Jewish faith, Satan (shaitan) is the 'accusor'. He is an angel of God. The angels of god do not have free will, and therefore there is no angelic revolt.
The function of ha-shaitan is to provide bad choices for people, so they have the opportunity to choose good, and therefore raise their life from a mundane life, and lead a more sanctfied life.
The word 'Angel' in Hebrew is 'malachi', which means messanger. The angels of God are the messengers of god.
My dislike for the Christian version of Satan has definately become more pronouced with the way many christians use that here.

You do seem to be arguing a lot of items that are more in tune with the Jewish religion than mainstream Christianity at times. One very strong example that , while not jewish at all, fits the Jewish attitude towards life/death is the concept that it isn't that Jesus died for your sins, but that he lived. The emphasis on LIFE rather than the death/sacrifice is much more Jewish than much of Christianity.

And, if Christianity is not 'true' , then anything about 'salvation' and what the New Testament says about how God judges people does not matter.
What, in my opinion, does matter, is how Christianity causes people to act. I have found that Evangalistic CHristianity condons lying and deceit, and other unethical practices in the pursuit of 'souls' to save.
One statement that is true, respectively of what else is around is the quote 'By their fruits you will know them'. I will take this to heart, and I will know Evangalistic Christians by their fruit.
