None of this surprises me in the least. The cartoonish behavior of FEMA and other federal agencies under this adminstration has convinced me that most of the "bungling" is done on purpose in order to help spread the party lie that government is inefficient and inept and we'd be better off privatizing just about everything (we're well on our way).
I mean, really, they gave 15 minutes notice for a press conference and then justified it (along with the fake reporters) by claiming that they just wanted to get the information out as quickly as possible? Talk about over compensation for Katrina! It's a joke, but the joke is on the American people. And it is getting less and less funny by the day.
Of course, it may also be that the bungling itself is real, made possible by the crony appointments like "Heckuvajob Brownie" who are destined, indeed intended, to fail.
