Everytime I hear a reference to the glorious day of liberation where the celebrating "crowd" of Iraqis tore down Saddam's statue, I wanna vomit...

Top picture...the anti-Saddam liberation celebration, shown only in extreme tight close up by U.S. news channels (I wonder why...)
Bottom picture, the decidedly less-U.S. friendly (and less U.S. controlled) 2nd anniversary.

Portions of me are visible in both my avatar and Schraf's current "kitty" avatar.

"Some people had said that these guys were hired by the US to jump around and scream pro-US slogans."
Yeah..."some people".
Like the U.S. Military, a year ago. There's no controversy here. It is confirmed by the U.S. that it was all a U.S. initiated and staged event. Carefully controlled, and willingly regurgitated by all major U.S. news outlets.
Editor and Publisher
"They were the shots seen 'round the world: newspaper photographs and TV images of jubilant Iraqis toppling a giant statue of Saddam Hussein in Baghdad on April 9, 2003, shortly after the U.S. military chased him out of town. Now, after months of rumors, the U.S. military has confirmed that the entire stunt was conceived by the U.S. military and enacted with the help of a fast-thinking Army psychological operation (PSYOP)."
