Author | Topic: Rei, Why does worship concern you? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

I am sure you can think of some way in which you could worship God Ned, skiing or mountain walking maybe You are also welcome to worship remember.

How was Rei's idea of worshipping not as appropriate as you talking to yourself? If I wanted to worship god (I’m an Atheist) I would probably run around yelling Blag! Blug! Bleg! and why is that any more "silly" then praying or reciting a verse from the bible 500 times? And who are you to judge how I praise my imagery friend in the sky?

I am not judging how you worship, I am asking how you worship.

Good choice!!!! skiing sounds just right and if I have sublime experinces, skiing is one of them. But I'm not sure that fits the usual definition of worship.

All hail the immense powder bowl! Yea though I ski through uncertain terrain I shall fear no trees: for thou have ski patrol; these bindings and boots they comfort me. Thou open an enormous chasm before me in the presence of my friends: thou buriest me in deepest powder; My ski pass expires. Surely sunhine and thermal inversions shall follow me the entire season; And I will tan in the great bowls of Blackcomb forever. [This message has been edited by sidelined, 12-08-2003]

I agree, my batty friend, especially as our new friend called Rei "Her Highness". There is room for only one queen on this forum, tho Rei can be in charge of supplying the ice cream for sacrifice. (I personally prefer Moose Tracks, no offense to our antlered buddy)
I want to "strongly" suggest that our new poster register and find a more appropriate forum for this discussion. This is a Welcome Visitor forum and I think 38 messages is pushing a short get acquainted topic. I'll leave it open for Rei to post her finale. By the way, Welcome Same Difference. Please feel free to register and find more appropriate threads to discuss your views and/or questions. ------------------

Next you'll be telling me Jesus was an english man, ofcourse he was a Jew!!!! So your thinking is bizarre. There is no rule saying ' and this testament is for the english speaking'- duh Please, please try and read what I wrote again. Where did I say that the Bible was only for english-speaking people? What I said was that, among English-speaking people, Christianity was the dominant religion. This is not true among Japanese-speaking people, for instance. It's true for Russian-speaking people. It's true for Greek-speaking people. It's true for a lot of people. But I only speak English. (Well, and a little French, Russian, and Japanese, none of which I can read.) So I'm only talking about the people I can speak to. And among those people, Christianity is the dominant religion. So when I talk with people about religion, guess what religion tends to come up? My thinking isn't "bizarre." It's actually quite obvious. You just didn't understand it. Please try and do so next time, ok?

he is a complete God who answers every 'why' question Oh, he does, does he? Why would a good God make evil? Why do bad things happen to good people? Hell, how about "why do objects fall towards the center of the Earth?" Biblical references for your answers, please. I know that last one isn't in the Bible, for sure.

Admin.
I'm finished with this particular thread apart from Rei's response (she was the main debatee) - I think she deserves her say. Apart from that do I have to answer biblical questions all the day long? If people can't be bothered reading that it's about worship (I've mentioned it at least three times) then what am I to do? |

Rei can be in charge of supplying the ice cream for sacrifice. Aren't you supposed to be one with power at this site? Can't we keep these silly comments to Rei's thread, this one is not an 'odd' thread. Mine, and Ned's comments have been sensible at least.
