quote:
Because, any reasonable person if they look from an outside view can see which is the real God.
Muslims look and see Allah
Hindus look and see Vishnu et al.
Neo-conservatives look and see Reagan.
It's all the same.
What, do you think that Christians somehow just look *a whole lot harder* or something? Then one might ask why Islam is the world's fastest growing religion.
The reality is that people tend to believe in the religion that their parents do - end of story. If you were born in Saudi Arabia, you'd be worshiping Allah, and insistant that those Christians just weren't looking hard enough.
quote:
I mean vishnu worshippers I have never came across on theses sites, so I'm sceptical about your figures.
Well, I rounded to the nearest hundred million; here's some figures (rounding to the nearest million):
India: 853 million
Nepal: 23 million
Indonesia: 5 million
Bangladesh: 22 million
Malaysia: ?
Mauritus: 1 million
Singapore: ?
Zambia: 3-5 million
Sri Lanka: 3 million
South Africa: 1 million
United Kingdom: 1 million
"Millions more" - U.S.'s ~300 million people, China's 1 billion, etc, have hindu minorities. Many other countries were omitted because the Hindu population was under 500,000 (and rounded down to 0). Just assuming that all I listed is all of the Hindism followers on Earth, that's a minimum of 912 million.
quote:
The 'bible forum' existing on this site speaks volumes, it's obvious that even the athiests know if there is 'God' the most likely one that could be him is the biblical one.
Start a thread to take a poll; I'm afraid you'll be sadly disappointed.
quote:
I mean if there is no evidence of Jesus (to you) then there must be 'minus no evidence' of this vishnu bloke
Not really. Zero is not greater than zero (as a general rule).
quote:
For example the historical Jesus is complimenting the 'faith Jesus' - any logical thinker can obviously see that they are the same person at this time, certainly the historians have shown this.
The "historical Jesus"? Praytell, what "historical Jesus" do you refer to?

The papyrus evidence of recently- certainly confirms the New Testament Jesus so far, okay it doesn't prove him but I'd like to see vishnu's evidence.
Cite your "papyrus evidence".

I've said twice your off topic. If you want to argue over which religion is true start your own topic and don't ruin mine. Message1 - maybe you didn't read it properly it was not a claim or theory, it was a personal message to 'believer in Christ' what do I need to do -publish a book to convince you? - man alive.
All your statistics were unnecessary, your issues are quite clearly with Jesus, not me.

How do you worship?
Maybe Rei has pretty much finished with the topic you orginally posted. That was pretty much done with her first reply.
You brought up the "evidence". I guess that is off topic. Would you like to have her start another one? Or are you finished?

Your right good man, I guess I'm finished. It's a pointless argument the one she persists with, if I wanted to argue the existance of Jesus I would have said. I guess she just took it and ran, I mean she seems to want to 'argue' rather than discuss how people worship. Oh well - I guess there is no worshippers around here.

I'm not understanding what you're trying to say. If you think that I 'don't get it' or something, please elaborate. What point where you trying to make in asking someone who doesn't believe in God how they worship?

Worshippers around here
Actually there are a number of them. There are also a number of ex worshippers. You might carry on that discussion with some of them.
Rei, as all of us, does like to argue. No surprise there.
However, as Rei pointed out it is kind of silly to discuss worshipping with someone who isn't interested in worshipping.

So, Rei how would you worship God ?
Karen, this is my quote. How WOULD you worship, your answer was silly, I said it was and so you persisted with the 'prove this' strategy.
I guess you can't think of a way in which you would realistically worship God.

Let me ask you a question so that you can experience what you're posing to me, by a question to you about how you would worship something that you don't believe in:
How would you worship the invisible pink unicorn that is currently running around in your hair?

But even sillier to make silly suggestions about worship whan you do not understand it!

Ofcourse, people do actually worship God, is it so silly to ask you to imagine how you could worship him? I mean people have worshipped him as Ned suggested, this leads me to think you have never actually worshipped ever in your life and so probably do not know what you are talking about when opening topics to do with worship, but please prove me wrong by all means.

Me worship
I suppose Rei might not. I don't which is why I usually stay out of the complicated theological discussions. (Not completely of course, too darned opinionated for that )
Now if the religious folks would just stay out of science classrooms we could all peacefully co-exist.

I don't know... praying? I haven't been a Christian since high school.

Serving God. Maybe there is a difference, but it struck me as an odd thread. - I thought you might know something of worship, and so I asked.
I don't know... praying? I haven't been a Christian since high school.
Well, yes that's a form of worship. I usually pray to thank God though. I worship him, and have worshipped him in other ways. Sometimes with big efforts - like I said if you worship in truth and in spirit you can't go wrong. That means you can choose to serve him in many ways I guess.
p.s Is Karen your name, or was I wrong?
