MBAM (MalwareBytes Anti-Malware) is superb even if you already have an anti-virus software. The free version is more than sufficient.

Nevermind, you said Firefox. Try and download Google Chrome and see if it happens with that browser as well. You could also try a defrag of your hard drive.
