as to the pictures on the zip disk being moved to the new computer:
if you happen to know the file name of any of these pictures, windows has a search feature.
go to start (click it)
check the right hand column of the start menu
look at the bottom grouping of this column
there is a command feature called "search" (has a magnifying glass as its icon)
once you open up this program there will be a dialogue box in a separate, left hand column, asking what you want to search for.
the first option (at the top) should be "pictures, music, or video"
then enter the file name (picture name) into the search box
if it finds the picture, it exists on your computer. if not . . .
you will need to stick your zip disk into the drive for it (and you need to know the name this drive has, like the hard drive is drive C, floppy's are drive A, cd's are drive D, for example)
you will then have to search using the advanced options tab (underneath the search box)
one of these options is to search by drive
choose your zip drive
hopefully, the picture is still there.
as to your caching problem, I haven't clue. sorry can't help you there.
