Its either that or a disturbed domestic individual. Im not suggesting anything yet...we shall see. And what would be your response, were you a national leader? Turn the other cheek?
What utter nonsense. If it's domestic it has to be a disturbed individual? If it is not domestic it has to be some foreign country? Sheesh Phat, think!Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

2 bombs x 1 person? 1 bomb x 2 people? I'd guess 2 bombs x 1 person. 'Cos of the difficulty of bringing the subject up ... "Hey, I was thinking, why don't we bomb the Boston marathon?" "Why don't we what?" "It's just an idea I've been kicking around. Or we could go bowling. In fact, forget I said anything about the marathon. Silly idea, really." Of course people do sometimes persuade other people to become accomplices in horrific crimes, it's not impossible. But one person is more likely.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAGO_l_YTbk[youtube refuses to play nicely] I'm not sure - one commentator was saying that the marathon was a classic terrorist target - lots of innocent people, he seemed to think that a solo loony is more likely to have a personal target - tax office, teacher, local car wash that damaged his car, president. It is so cowardly and pathetic to target people who are innocent.
Whom ever perpetrated this will either do it again or be caught. They have a system that works and now will be bolstered to do it again. This I fear is the start of a serial bomber. Lets hope our FBI earns their paychecks this month and gets this kook. "You were not there for the beginning. You will not be there for the end. Perhaps the commentator has forgotten about (or perhaps never heard of, it was 17 years ago) Eric Rudolph, the man who plead guilty to bombing the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and who hid out in the North Carolina mountains. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) I would say here something that was heard from an ecclesiastic of the most eminent degree; ‘That the intention of the Holy Ghost is to teach us how one goes to heaven, not how the heaven goes.’ Galileo Galilei 1615. Well, the solo loony with a gun often just goes for as many people as possible. Did the mall shooter have a grievance against malls, or was he just looking for abundant targets? And terrorists, as I pointed out, would tend to go for a target of symbolic importance. I could be wrong, but on balance it's a lone nut. And as someone's pointed out, a terrorist group would take credit. Terrorists typically have a cause that they want to proclaim and/or demands that they want to be met.

Sure, he was just guessing from what he thought was the balance of probabilities. There was also talk of the difficulty in setting two bombs (and there's talk of more) and that the target was also in a pretty secure location (the end of the marathon which was well policed and searched.) But everyone is still speculating.Life, don't talk to me about life - Marvin the Paranoid Android

I just finished reading this man's backstory. Utterly tragic, and yet his instinctive reaction yesterday inspires me, too.

But everyone is still speculating. I understand that. My point is that the very little of the speculation is worthwhile.
There was also talk of the difficulty in setting two bombs (and there's talk of more Well, today's word seems to be that no other bombs were found. I have the AP phone app. It came across the wire that one of the bombs was a pressure cooker that did have ball bearings for schrapnel in it.

A perfect Marathon day, then the unimaginable - The Boston Globe
This is how bad this is. I went out Monday night and bumped into some firefighters I know. They said one of the dead was an 8-year-old boy from Dorchester who had gone out to hug his dad after he crossed the finish line. The dad walked on; the boy went back to the sidewalk to join his mom and his little sister. And then the bomb went off. The boy was killed. His sister’s leg was blown off. His mother was badly injured. That’s just one family, one story. Unimaginable.

This quote from the Boston paper that ooh-child cited:
quote:Tell me why I am being irrational and not thinking. Anyone who would do such a thing ...lets just say that justice is demanded at this point.

Well we simply have no idea yet about who did it or why. What you said was "Its either that or a disturbed domestic individual. Im not suggesting anything yet...we shall see. And what would be your response, were you a national leader? Turn the other cheek?" Your post says that who ever did it must be "disturbed" if it was domestic. It could well be "disturbed" and foreign. It could be quite reasonable and logical and domestic. It could be the act of someone seeking justice.Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

It could be quite reasonable and logical and domestic. It could be the act of someone seeking justice. Against whom? The thing about nail-bombs is, they're not terribly specific.

A system, an affront; we just plain don't know.
