actually, they discussed the caucussing system yesterday. only the democratic caucus is complicated. the republicans show up, talk about who they like and why, and then write it on a piece of paper and leave. there's not waiting to see if a candidate is viable and reshuffling.

the democratic caucus process is, you show up and declare who you're voting for. they shuffle you into groups based on this. then they count and make sure that the candidates being voted for are "viable", that is they have some set minimum percentage of the vote. if they don't, they are eliminated and the people who were voting for that candidate choose a second choice. this is why obama was speaking the other day and asking to be people's second choice as well.
the republican system is much simpler. you show up and everyone discusses who they want and why then people write up a paper ballot and mail it in.

i'm not really worried he'll actually be elected, but if he were, i think the US would become a very strange and terrifying place. but then again, the last time his state's school system needed more money, the bill to increase the taxes was passed and he signed it without question or micromanaging. so who knows.
it's generally safe to say that after a few years have passed and the next guy is in office, almost everything seems less awful than it did when it was happening, and the doom-sayers are never really right.

I support and have always supported passage of a federal constitutional amendment that defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman. As President, I will fight for passage of this amendment. My personal belief is that marriage is between one man and one woman, for life.... do you think he'll fight for a constitutional amendment to ban divorce? Edited by brennakimi, : No reason given.

see. arach is mistaken. rvw ruled that abortion is a medical procedure and that medical procedures are protected under the right to security of person and property under the 4th amendment. that is, that on a sliding scale of viability of the fetus, the government has limited purview over the medical procedures women and their doctors choose to participate in.
the idea of rvw being legislation is the biggest lie of the last 30 years. it was an application of basic bill of rights protections to women and their bodies.

It should also be known that I happen to agree with him. we're all well aware that you think that just because a group of people have "always been discriminated against" means they should continue to be discriminated against.
but a persons religion defines their moral outlook. bullshit.

I don't think people should be discriminated against, or receive special compensation. is a black person being able to marry a white person in addition to black people special compensation?

Apart from anything else, Mr Huckabee, the feeding of the five thousand takes place during Jesus' ministry. He wasn't a "little boy", he was all grown up. i think he's referring to the fish and bread being taken from a little boy. i think i recall a sunday school story about it. lemme look.... nope. the fish and bread were in the possession of the disciples. he's a loon. it must be some stupid retelling to make kids feel important. (see? loon. that's a bash. but, it would seem, entirely justified.) it really makes me sick these people who presume to know the will of god. we are all astray.
In 1998, Huckabee wrote: “Abortion, environmentalism, AIDS, pornography, drug abuse, and homosexual activism have fragmented and polarized our communities.” Mike Huckabee Equates Environmentalism with Pornography | Democracy Now! i wonder if he still stands by his view on environmentalism.
