No better No worse
Kader writes:
You’re sitting on your sofa having a casual “God” conversation with a friend, and then after maybe hours of debating you hear it.
“I was reborn”
“I met God”
“God reached me”
I’ve also read people on this forum asserting that they either speak, or feel the presence of their God. I say their God here because every religion has some followers claiming to have met with their God.
Are you special ?
What about the “others religious” who claim the same thing ?
Why does God only speaks with believers ?
I can't tellyou any absolute pronouncement of how God works. I can say that I was born again, but whether or not I met God or whether I simply became aware of someone who was always permeating me I cannot say. I also cannot judge other religions.
I do believe that there is one God whom every religion and individual can experience. I believe that we are a product of Gods creative imagination rather than He (She or IT) being a product of our imagination.
I can also say that it helps to have an open mind and heart and to assume nothing.

The Thing Is......
Kader writes:
The thing is everyone experience love to a certain degree, while only a very select people can hear God.
And I'm not talking about day to day things you can attribute to God. I'm talking about God directly speaking to you and telling you what to do.
Another thing to note. when God speaks to someone it is always (strangely) in concordance to what belief the person hold.
Just a quick personal note: I don't directly hear an audible voice. Only perhaps 3 or 4 times has this ever happened, and I am not sure if it was objective or subjective. I DO believe that God uses other people to convey what He wants said at times. I also believe that He uses silence to make me aware of choices and changes in my directed thought.
Many believe that God is a creation of our imagination. I don't believe this, but can understand why others do believe it.

I listened and I never heard anything.
Perhaps it was the silence that He was attempting to get you to appreciate.
People had probably been telling you what God said all your life. He was attempting to show you what it meant to simply accept His love and drink in the silence of a calm day. Of course, I don't know. Thats between you two!

I consider myself having a pretty open mind. I crave knowledge about God, I want him to talk to me or to show me his existance. But I'm not getting any insight, and I don't want to spend anymore time studying any scripture. I want him to speak to me like he speaks to George Bush. And I will convert.
Allow me to speculate, here. God does not speak to everyone the same way. I have no idea if George Bush hears God or if he only thinks he hears God. I do not believe that God approves of a war primarily to secure Western Capitalist interests.
Kader,speaking to Jar writes:
I wish everyone would hold the same kind of belief, but reality is otherwise..sadly. Im not saying that christianity is God, I am saying that to go to heaven you have to follow a set of rules, and these rules contradict themselves from a religion to another.
Many Christians believe that humans are incapable of following the rules anyway and that only through faith in Christ (the character of God) can we make it to heaven. I happen to believe that its a matter of trust but also a matter of doing the best that we possibly can.
You say that you crave God and that you are curious about the end times? Well...if this is in any way true, common sense to me dictates that only after the sum of humanity has attempted to do the best that we can within the context of our inclinations and awareness, then and only then would God intervene in the affairs of humanity.
In the meantime, we would do well to attempt to get along with our fellow humans.
