Yes, Changes occur in DNA due to its interaction with other agents. DNA does not mutate spontaneously. If it does, then it proves your point. But, it does not.

...Neither Bible nor Torah... for the last time, inkorrekt, the torah is part of the bible. really. they are not different books. in english, the word for torah is "penteteuch."
Bible says that an angry person is a FOOL. answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own deceit.

I am not an archeologist or a paleontologist. I cannot answer this. Perhaps, the bones were somehow lost in the flood. I do not have the answer. so where then is the evidence you claimed?

I do not have the answer. Don't feel bad about that: none of the YEC's of the last century have had a remotely satisfactory answer either. That's primarily because there were no "giants," and there was no universal flood to drown them.

quote:Sorry, that's wrong. Most mutations are spontaneous, not the result of DNA interacting with another agent. Common sources of mutation include incorporation of the wrong nucleotide during replication, slippage of the replication machinary during replication, and the spontaneous change of one nucleotide to another (deamination of methylated cytosines).

It was my class mate who first demonstrated methylated cytosine. Even this process of (deamination of methylated cytosines)cannot be spontaneous. Something must trigger this reaction.

quote:Evidence, please? The process in question is usually referred to as "spontaneous deamination", so it would be appropriate for you to give some grounds for thinking it isn't spontaneous.

Hi inkorrekt
Yes, Changes occur in DNA due to its interaction with other agents. DNA does not mutate spontaneously. If it does, then it proves your point. But, it does not. So the ability to mutate was there but because the whole earth was perfect, nothing did? Sounds like a huge dollop of ad hoc reasoning to me. Can you supply any chapter and verse justification of this? Be specific. I'll leave the assertion that external influences are always required for mutation for now because I strongly suspect that it is quite far off-topic. However, even if it were the case (and its not), then a pre-flood world would have to be pretty much perfect for there to be absolutely no mutation occurring. No sunlight, no stress, no food: pretty much nothing vaguely harmful. Even the biblical account makes this pretty unbelievable. But crucially, the question still remains. The Fall is often used to explain away a lot of uncomfortable data that points to common descent, so you've really got to make a decision: Either:
Nothing changed at the time of the Fall. In which case, why do we share so many useless mutations with Chimps etc? And what did happen after the fall? or The Fall describes the start of imperfection, where similar animals were 'cursed' in similar ways. If you subscribe to this view then you're going to have explain how the animals on the Ark were able to create viable populations. You can't have it both ways, unless you want to invoke magic.

Bible is not a text book on Science for your kind information. Therefore, I will not use it in my posts.

I was only referring to the so called Spaontaneous deamination which cannot occur by itself unless it is triggered.

In order for equilibrium to be achieved certain reversible reactions adjust their rates. Spontaneus reactions can occur if this particular reaction(spontaneous deamination) is a component of a chain reaction.

Continuing to ignore perfectly reasonable requests for support, clarification or reasons will result in a suspention. I expect you to start debating in good faith.
You may refer, to start with, to Message 70 post half a day ago. If you continue you will be suspended.

You're making this up, or mangling something you've half-learned so badly it's just words strung together. Try again, but think what you're typing first.
