The problem isn't apparent in IE 6.0 when I set my screen to 800x600:
But I see that in Netscape 7.1 the context line just keeps going right off the right hand side:
So yes, I see the problem. This is a Netscape screwup. The context line has Is anyone who uses other browsers also seeing this problem? Click on the second thumb above to see what Netscape does to the context line.

Using Firefox.
I had noticed it before, but thought I'd bring it up this time. I saw that scroll bar at the bottom of the page, and I was starting to look for an overlong URL - Then I realized it wasn't a URL problem. I guess I'm just conditioned to not liking horizontal scroll bars. Maybe there's a fix somewhere in the Firefox setup. As software problems go, this one is on the cutting edge of "pretty damn small. Actually I see the problem even in IE6 unless I go full screen. But the big problem is folk that give us these long topic titles.
Seriously, I can duplicate the symptoms in just about all the browsers including IE, Netscape, Firefox, Mozilla, Avant and Opera. Mazathon is the only one where I couldn't get the issue to happen. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

It's interesting that the problem is widespread. I guess I have two points:

Problem should be fixed, let me know if it persists. I've checked it in NetScape, seems to be okay.

Sometimes I underestimate myself (i.e., sometimes I'm not as dumb as I think).
The addition error in the "online now" line has also been fixed.
Testing fix to edit comment line, time should follow user's selected time format. This message has been edited by Admin, 03-13-2005 17:07 AM This message has been edited by Admin, 03-13-2005 05:14 PM

If I type into my browser and then try the "Recent Topics List" link it tells me the page doesn't exist. I have fixed my bookmarks so it is generally not a problem but if I am browsing from school it is a bit of an inconvenience.

This happened to me when trying to view the previous message in this thread, coming from the All Topics page.
The link for going directly to the message worked like this (run your mouse over the link): Re: : bad link at In other words, half of the link took me to the proper message, and the other half opened up a new window pointing to . Ben

i've seen this in some other boards (usually really simple ones), and I think especially here, it would be helpful.
Is it possible to give a display option to users, such that a thread's post "tree" is displayed? It seems to me that a topic often goes like this:
in such a way that it becomes unclear what the point of the original thread was. Sometimes there are multiple "sub-threads" going on inside of a thread, each originally addressing the original post, but now with a life of their own. If we had a tree view, it would be much easier to keep track of exactly where a post fits into the overall idea of the thread. This would help people have some idea at what part of the thread they're jumping in, and might help people locate "key" posts when jumping into a thread. With the current "flat" view, It's more like ... page through some of the posts, until you're just not interested, and then just respond. In a tree view, you can easily see where the major "decision points" are, and take a peek at those. Just a thought. I could describe an interface view that makes sense.
