The color itself is great. Unfortunately, there isn't enough contrast between the links and the background.

I notice that many people have trouble using the msg=, thread= etc links (mostly because they don't take the time to learn it, and for some it is a little to much technasleeze)

Some of us haven't bothered with it because it puts the link in a premade format. I usually prefer to embed links to messages in the text I'm writing. The dBCode doesn't let me do this.
