oh to be 8 years old again and believe that every story in the Bible is true.
Ah how I yearn for those innocent days.
Brian.

I said real religion. Jar's religion is not real.
Of course it is real, if it wasn't real how could he be following it?
The flat earthers' beliefs are real because their belief exists, Jar's religion is real because it exists.
If you mean his religion is not true, then it is in the exact same condtition as every other religion. They are all faiths, and they are all real.
Not only that, they are all so real that they have made our planet an aboslute nightmare to live in.
Religion has been an abomination to mankind, us sane folk are having our lives ruined by these nutballs who think theres a wee man living up in the sky.
Brian.

God obviously punished them because they ate from the tree of good and evil.
If they hadn't eaten the fruit from that then no action would have been taken by God.
Not being allowed to eat from the tree of life was part of the punishment for eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Brian.

Still a fairytale though, but the only conclusion from an English comprehension approach.

Re: Way too funny.
Why were they not allowed to eat from the Tree of Life?
My understanding is if you eat from the tree of life then that makes you immortal, I didn't think you had to keep eating from it.

You mean that your and Brian's interpretation is that it would have been okay with God if Adam and Eve had eaten from the Tree of Life? He wasn't worried that they might live forever, but he didn't want them to know good from evil?
That's not my interpretation at all.
Brian.

Re: Why not?
I think you missed my point, even though I agree with what you have said.
What I am getting at is what action prompted a punishment from God?
I believe it was eating the fruit that did it, but Rob has posted something of yours that claims it wasn't?
I thought it was clear they were punished for eating the fruit, and that being kept away from the tree of life was part of the punishment.
Am I missing something?
Brian.

Re: Original Sin genetics
Adam wasn't sinful until Eve tempted him. So it seems likely that Eve was the originator of the original sin gene. Her passing of the apple to Adam is a metaphor for lateral gene transfer
Couple of wee problems.
We don't know what type of fruit it was, and in the eyes of Christians Adam is responsible for his wife and as she was subordinate to him, he should have made sure that she didn't do anything wrong.
Thus, original sin was Adam's fault because he failed to keep his wife under control.
As silly as it sounds, I am being serious!
Brian.
