Quotes are necessary to make your posts comprehensible. And you needn't use the "Reply with quote" button, I don't.
Just use the "Reply without quote" button and scroll down below the text box and you will find the message you are replying to in its entirety. Cut-and-paste what you want to quote to your text box and enclose it in (QUOTE)(B)(/B)(/QUOTE) except using brackets instead of ().
If not your posts get really hard to read or very vague without knowing what you are commenting on. "Duplicating information" is necessary or else things get confusing.
