Re: truth and nothing but the truth

I need to ask where you picked up the information you declare here.
For example, if you think we come from monkeys, well where did the monkey's come from? And if we believe they came from and ooze on the ground...where did the ooze come from...and if the ooze came from a great anomlie..
I am curious because we recieve these views on a regular basis and the points put forth do not actually have any basis as an arguement so perhaps if you give me the location I can offer to help these people correct their misrepresentaions.

God loves you and is sorry for what you had to go through.
TThe truth will set you free...if you let it.
God loved the world so much that He sent His one and only son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.
If you don't believe this.....I sure hope your right.
I don't want to argue...you believe one thing I believe another. it is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that one might see.
Faith is also being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Seing as you didn't respond to any of the information that I posted, I can merely hope that it will in your case.

BZZZZT!
Pascal's Wager. I'm so sorry, youoweme50. Johnny, tell him what parting gifts he has!
Well, Bob, youoweme50 has won himself a lifetime of anguish in someone else's hell! Yes, that's right. After spending all of his life fighting against Satan and worshipping the Christian god, youoweme50 gets a reward of going straight to Hades for his hubris. He'll be sentenced to solve a series of puzzles for which the instructions can be read in many ways. Every attempt to glean more information will be met with "Since it would just be a waste of my time to tell you, I won't." Of course, every proposed solution will conflict with something in the contradictory instructions. This being for his continued insistence that those around him are unworthy of explanations.
But, he won't get hungry because he'll have an afterlife-time supply of Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco Treat.
You didn't really think that the god that truly exists is the Christian one, did you?

Re: God loves you and is sorry for what you had to go through.
Rrhain,
I love rice-a-roni. Thanks for the parting gifts, I would have just rather left with nothing, but that was very kind of you.
Oh, and I don't need to waste my time sharing with you truth when many fo your eyes have not been open to the truth. I knwo that way down in your heart you are missing something, but a little pride will cover that right up.
Thanks for telling me what I've won Bob, oh and you forgot to mention the awesome party i get to have for the rest of my life starting now!
Your guys' minds are set, only a true revelation fo Holy Spriirt can allow you to accept Yahweh as the true God. See you later monkey-men!
I pray for your souls.
Oh, and Rrhain, I know that the church has treated you badly and hurt you in the past, and for that I ask your forgiveness.

Just a little hint... in the future, keep in mind that the truth will be more readily received when it's not wrapped up in logical fallacies, and it addresses (rather than ignores) the responses of others.
The way you deliver it, the truth just sounds like it can't stand on its own merits, let alone stand up in the face of a simple challenge.

I love being psychoanalyzed over the internet. I always learn such wonderful things about myself!
Now I learn that because I don't believe in your god, that must mean I am "missing something."
Did it ever cross your mind that just because I don't believe in your god, that doesn't mean I don't believe in any god?
There is more to the question of religion than Christian/atheist.
quote:
Your guys' minds are set, only a true revelation fo Holy Spriirt can allow you to accept Yahweh as the true God.
Your mind is set and only a true revelation of the Almighty Zeus can allow you to accept the Pantheon as the true gods.
You see...your argument applies just as equally to you as it does to everybody else.
quote:
Oh, and Rrhain, I know that the church has treated you badly and hurt you in the past
What church? What poor treatment?
Remember what I said about being analyzed over the internet?
Some quick questions:
Have I ever been to seminary?
Rabbinical school?
Am I ordained by any religious organization?
Am I an atheist?
Think carefully. Remember...just because I don't believe in your god does not mean I am an atheist.

Revelation 2:17
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says
Physician, heal thyself! The Spirit has been screaming at you and you have yet to turn your ear to it.
quote:
Matthew 16:4
A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.
And what makes you think you have seen the sign of Jonah?
Has it not crossed your mind that god does exist but not in the way you think?
Or are you telling us you are incapable of error?

Lol, well get ready to owe me 50 bucks. I havent read all the posts, and really dont plan on it, but I have a book at my High School, that found a bird, that dated back to right around dinosaurs extinction. Know, the bird was not a reptile either, it was supposedly a mammal.

David, we already knew that birds existed during the Cretaceous at the same time as the last dinosaurs. How does this disprove evolution?

Birds aren't mammals, birds aren't derrived from mammals. You should learn your lineages.

David, it is ok here to go on memory part of the time. That hurries things along for one thing. But you have to watch how much of it you do and should flag things you post that you aren't sure of.
I suggest you stop doing this now. Your memory and the "facts" you think you have are so very off the mark that you are about out of credibility. Do some research then come back with specific questions. After you know a little bit about the subjects under discussion you might be able to construct somewhat interesting arguments.

I think that statement follows the same logic as "if humans evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys."
Or something along those lines.

That's what I figured, too, but I prefer to see fallacies made explicit before they get smacked down.
