I'd like to share with Robin's online forum friends the closing prayer that we wrote for his memorial service. My husband read it aloud as I couldn't trust my voice at that time:
"Thank you for our blessings. We are grateful for family and friends among us today. Keep us all in your care and grace. Though there is doubt and confusion in our loss, let us keep our minds open to the wonders of this world. The time must always come to shove off this mortal coil, but the spirit shall forever be.
We pray for his wife. Let the continuity of the soul keep Robin close to her, watching over her as is your plan (and his). Grant her strength, courage and serenity. Grant her comfort and refuge in your truth.
Of the many blessings for which we are thankful, one of the greatest is the family circle. Let us, in this trying time, seek the inspiration to heal and be healed within that wondrous circle. We are all strengthened by Robin’s spirit. Let us leave here today renewed and avowed to love one another; to care for one another; to support one another spiritually, the way that this devoted husband, father, brother, teacher, citizen of the world would want.
Robin, we miss you and we love you. The rest is silence."
