4. supporting the military industrial complex over needed infrastructure
5. violating his oath to protect the constitution by supporting the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, granting legal immunity to telecommunications companies that cooperated with the Bush administration’s program of wiretapping without warrants. This is a rerun of the discredited NAFTA, when Bill Clinton disregarded the 99%ers in order to serve corporate interests. Make no mistake, this agreement is completely for the investors rights:
1. The fast-track proposal, which would stifle legislative discussion of the various parts of this large agreement, is widely understood as aiming to avoid exposure of its parts that legislators and the public might find especially objectionable. This is completely anti-transparent and undemocratic.
2. The TPP is fiercely opposed by labour, environmental, and human rights groups. On the other hand, the Republicans generally support the TPP. What more evidence do you need?
3. The full text of the TPP agreement has been kept classified. What type of fascist police state does this? This pact was formulated in secret mainly in collaboration with corporate representatives. Has Obama, a supposed "professor of Constitutional Law," ever heard of "We the People"?
4. The TPP Focuses heavily on investors’ (i.e., corporate) rights. Euphemistically called a "Trade Agreement" to fool the masses.
5. The TPP would have a significant NEGATIVE effect on equality. Why does Obama want to further exacerbate income equality. I've wrote before, I'm trying to stop the epidemic, yet Obama insists on driving the monkey to the airport.
6. The TPP will price millions of people out of much-needed medical care.
7. The TPP would encourage further out-sourcing and job and tax revenue loss, a further weakening of labor’s bargaining power, windfalls for the wealthy from enhanced copyright and patent protection, along with reduced government revenue for social spending.
8. Supranational litigation tribunals to which sovereign national courts are expected to defer, but which have no human rights safeguards. The TPP IP Chapter states that these courts can conduct hearings with secret evidence.
9. TPP’s IP regime would trample over individual rights and free expression, as well as ride roughshod over the intellectual and creative commons.
