I'd say that the form of government "the people" put in place has been turned on its head by the people with money.
How did that happen?

The funny thing is, Walker seems to think businesses will come here if we don't tax them, despite the fact that we'll have no educated or experienced workers to become employed by these businesses. It's just mind-numbingly absurd.
All depends on just what kind of businesses he's looking for, just what kinds of 'jobs' and 'futures' he plans on creating...
Would you like fries with that, anyone?

Woken not Stirred?
and the fact that people have finally been woken up
Woken or stirred? And for how long? History shows us that Americans are pretty quick to forget once someone pulls out the shiny metal and distracts them.
The Revolution has not yet come; best not to put all your money into the first battle cry you hear.

Re: Equal Infleunce?
But by any meaningful definition of "we" you must acknowledge that "we" inherit a given situation where not all influence and power is equal? So just how far are you backdating "we" to?
Some kids just never get tired of blaming their parents.
Oh well; guess they'll be getting the world they're after.

I'll have a coffee to go.
Sorry, we don't sell coffee. Can I interest you in some Starbucks instead?

Re: "We"
What's the point of placing blame?
How is an all-gripe-no-work strategy going to fix things?

Re: "We"
It's not about blame you blithering imbecile.
Huh?
Phat's post used 'blame' every other word. What else could he have been talking about?

Re: Are you willing to work to make change?
Why should the future generations pay for your retirement?
It's good work incentive.
Plus, a strong social security and retirement system ensures plenty of open jobs for young people.
I can't think of reasons why young folk would not want a good social security system unless they are just plain stupid and ignorant.

Re: Are you willing to work to make change?
The question is why should they pay for YOU?
Well; I'm a young fella.
But suppose I were older. It would be in their interest for me to retire so they can have my job. It's better to have a job and a paycheck that partially goes to funding someone else's retirement than to have no job or paycheck at all.

Re: Are you willing to work to make change?
Why should they not just replace you, take your job?
If that's the world you want to live in.
But in a country with wealth like ours there is really no reason for anyone to go unprovided for.

Re: Are you willing to work to make change?
Why should coming generations support those older than they are?
Because they can.
