'Some still living' disproves literal truth of the bible

I have recently become interested in trying to understand the beliefs of creationists. I think that many evolution/creationist debates go around in circles because the two sides have different methods of debating and that people's worldviews can be so disparate.It is difficult for me to imagine basing all of my beliefs about life on one book (which was written by a number of (fallible) human beings, in my opinion.)I know it is kind of silly to think about this because it is such an extreme hypothetical- but imagine that the Bible had never been written, or imagine you were alive before Jesus and before the Bible had been written. How do you think you would go about creating your belief system? Where would you look for answers to explain life?Thanks for any feedback and reflections! Edited by AdminPD, : Warning
