At least this is a story men like to tell.

My ex had asked me to marry him 5 or 6 times and all these times I told him I didn't think we were ready. The sixth time I told him that the next time he asked I would hold him to it. Well, needless to say, he asked again. He loved to tell the story to his friends about how he just woke up one day being measured for a tux. He had ample warning.
