*gag* By the way, "christian" wasn't an option in the poll.

quote: Ringo, agnostics don't know what to do with what they do know. If they knew and decided, they'd be either athiests or theists.)
That's not an accurate description of Agnosticism.

Re: Swing Vote
quote: So many of us at some point find ourselves in a spiritual limbo until we decide that there is a God or there isn't a God
I don't feel like I'm in limbo. I don't feel like I'm searching for anything, because nothing is missing from my life. I don't feel any need at all to decide that gods exist or not. Perhaps Agnostics have a much greater tolerance for uncertainy and ambiguity than everyone else. It doesn't bother me in the least that I don't know if the supernatural exists or not.

Re: Applicable to Agnosticism
quote: Specifically why is it not applicable to agnosticism?
Saying that Agnostics "don't know what to do" with what we do or don't know seems to imply that; 1) one must "do" something with such knowledge at all, and 2) that Agnostics are having trouble or difficulty making up our minds. It would be more accurate to say that Agnostics take the position that it isn't possible to make up one's mind.

I don't feel like I'm searching for anything, because nothing is missing from my life. quote: How wonderful. Probably your robust enthusiasm for the wonders of life keeps you from having any unfulfilled needs.
You know, I read somewhere that unhappy people tend to try to rain on other people's parades out of misery and jealousy. You poor thing. Edited by schrafinator, : No reason given.

Re: Swing Vote
quote: It could be too that your sights aren't set very high in which case you can be easily fulfilled and there is nothing boastful at all being said. If ones sights are low then total fulfillment is as natural as the weather. Robin doesn't consider that - sloppy logician that he is.
Very true. But honestly, Ian. Knowing what you do about my character, such as you have been able to ascertain from my posts here, do you really think I'm the sort to "settle"? To be content with mediocrity?

Re: Swing Vote
You may want to live your life a sullen, cynical malcontent, jealously poo-pooing everyone who isn't as jaded as you are, if that gets you off. I feel sorry for you, though, if that's the case.
