I've been scanning through the forums, reading, posting, maybe even learning something... and I keep seeing references to some one called 'salty', with the impression that they were not a very nice person. So, in the interests of satisfying my curiosity...

aka "Salty" is an old earth creationist who has tried to peddle his unorthodox evolutionary concept, here and at other places.

There were also quite a few later Salty related topics, including For Salty and What is Salty's 'semi-meiotic hypothesis'.
​
Salty didn't put forward much in support of his hypothesis, and considerable justified and/or unjustified abuse was directed towards him.

At Terry's Talk Origins, there is a prime example of strange Salty behaviour. See his absolutely off-topic remarks in messages 6 and 8 at the Tennessee Public School topic.
