That's right, Ted. All (brown-skinned Arab) refugees are guilty until proven innocent. Truly the American way.

The smile too, forced and fake. I bet his hands are cold and clammy and his handshake as limp as a dead fish. Uuuggh!!!
This the GOP clown car is so entertaining this cycle I can not wait for the primaries!!! I actually am beginning to believe Ben Carson is attempting to out Trump, Trump in the " say anything crazy dept. " I heard him say on a Fox Chris Wallace interview that he would if elected impose NO FLY zones in Syria. Wallace: paraphrase...you would shoot down a Russian jet?Carson: smirks: thats what no fly zones are...you dont fly there. Wallace: YOU would risk getting us into a war with russia, you stupid vapid yutz !!! Ok maybe Wallace didnt say that but he thought it. More GOP red meat for the base. I cant not put that mans speaking demeanor with the heinous crap he spews forth. Its like seeing a cat bark. Our history suggests that we as a country cannot resist this type of red meat. We digest it now, and then when the crisis has passed, we acknowledge the evil of our ways and promise not to do it again. A promise which we keep at least with out words until the next time we have act. We are already hearing ugly talk about special ID cards for Muslims and favorable references to the Japanese internment camps created during WW II. And it is not just the base that is susceptible to this stuff. 47 House democrats joined the republicans in creating a bill that pretty much rules out any Syrians or Iraqis from gaining any immigration or refugee status in this country. One thing I do find noteworthy is that there is plenty of push back from at least some evangelicals who want no part of the hate filled side of the debate. Edited by NoNukes, : No reason given. Is he just a gifted performance artist that leverages false outrage as a cheap means to garner votes from supporters of Kim Davis (and apparently, her husband 'Cletus')? Or is he REALLY just totally batshit? The irony of these situations just staggers me.

From today's New York Times: From Vaccines to Creationism, Ben Carson’s Views Perplex Some:
On Creationism I believe the Bible. I do believe it is the word of God. I do believe he created heavens and earth. It says in Genesis 1, in the beginning God created heaven and earth. Period. We don’t know how long that period is before he started the rest of creation. It could be a minute. It could be a trillion years. We don’t know. I have never stated that I have an understanding of how old the earth is. That’s something that a lot of people will ascribe to me. Organisms, animals have the ability to adapt to their environment. But the evolutionists say that’s proof positive that evolution occurs. I say it is evidence of an intelligent God who gave his creatures the ability to adapt to its environment so he wouldn’t have to start over every 50 years. Interesting. He doesn't say they were 24-hour days. He won't agree there's evolution, but will agree that creatures can adapt to their environment. --Percy

Sounds like a form of "Gap Creationism" to me, certainly some form of "Old Earth Creationism" ... Wonder if he recognizes that disease carrying bacteria evolve ... ringo writes: So He's just lazy. Maybe He was just optimizing His returns--sort of like professional billing practices: look at all the credit He got for a few days work. Ben would understand that. Alternatively, maybe He was subject to a time-efficiency study by Big Management, and His Union was trying to build in some reasonable slack for the future to protect Its Members from repetitive creation injuries. I confess I'm unsure how BIG the Big Boss is--does the dollar really stop there, or is it owned by a Multiversal Conglomerate? So I'm trying to develop my Corporate Theology in this new world of devout corporations. I don't have it all worked out yet, but I think Ben does. I'm pretty sure Ben would agree that the Chairman threw out the Board after they attempted a hostile takeover, and positioned His Son to fill His Shoes. But He's been on a long, long sabbatical ever since; apparently, like Mao, He's letting a thousand rivals bloom before He cleans house. I'm also pretty sure Ben knows somebody has to take charge down here now. Edited by Omnivorous, : No reason given. Obviously not the complete list, but here's something in particular ...
"I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down," the Republican presidential candidate said at a Nov. 21 rally in Birmingham, Ala. "And I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering." The next day, ABC This Week host George Stephanopoulos asked Trump if he misspoke, noting that "the police say that didn't happen." Trump -- who has said he was in his Manhattan apartment the morning of the attack -- doubled down. "It was on television. I saw it," Trump said. "It was well covered at the time, George. Now, I know they don't like to talk about it, but it was well covered at the time. There were people over in New Jersey that were watching it, a heavy Arab population, that were cheering as the buildings came down. Not good." No, Mr. Trump, you godforsaken monkeywitted buttclown, you did not see it, because it was not well covered on television, because it didn't happen.

The truth doesn't matter much to his supporters.
He retweeted a white supremacist-sourced graphic (top panel) citing a nonexistent bureau. He's been corrected (lower panel). Note: The FBI says the actual statistic for blacks killed by blacks in 2014 is 90%, not 97, so this correction is off a bit. If you want a tour through the moral and intellectual sewers, go to any coverage of this and read the comments from his supporters. I won't duplicate any here. Of course, I don't hate these bastards, just their bastardry.
Also, a Trump campaign official declared he would expect to be beaten if he entered a black church in the U.S., so, you know, those blacks roughed up at Trump campaign rallies... Been there, done that at black churches, with and without invitations, and I couldn't have been more warmly welcomed. "Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson on Monday initially backed Trump, saying he remembered seeing the TV footage. But later in the day, Carson's campaign walked back the statement, saying he had confused New Jersey with the Middle East."
