Re: More Gnock Gnock Jokes
Do you think everyone standing there died before the events of verse 38 which took place the same day? No. What people find remarkable is that only 'some' of the people present were expected to be alive at an event that occurred just a few hours later. Or more to the point, that it seems strange that Jesus would expect the people present to be surprised by the fact that some of them would still be alive only a few hours later. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people. Martin Luther King If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? Scott Adams

Re: More Gnock Gnock Jokes
Do you think everyone standing there died before the events of verse 38 which took place the same day? So, that was it? The coming of the kingdom consisted of nothing more than Jesus' fan club saying nice things about him? Traditionally people have thought of it as being something more impressive. Also, they've been praying for it to happen for the last two millennia without realizing that it had been and gone. Perhaps Jesus could have clarified this a little. For example, when the good thief said "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom", he could have answered, "Actually I already did that, it was no big deal."

(Ironically posted on Remembrance Day.) A shepherd should be willing to die for his sheep. Dying itself is not an accomplishment but risking one's life for others is.
Greatest I am writes: Is a shepherd doing the right thing towards his family if he dies for his sheep and leaved his family fatherless?
It may be better than leaving them sheepless.

ringo We would have to decide if we are talking livestock or humans. Humans are a bit more important than animals. Regards DL

Not necessarily. Humans depend on animals for survival. It's just as important to protect your children's food supply as it is to protect your children directly.
