The difference is obvious -- to us, but apparently not to some here, such as GIA for sure, PaulK I think, and Dr. A. Something about ears to hear I suppose.

So what you quote from scriptures are showing the real Jesus but what I quote from the same gospels are showing a fake Jesus. Ok. RegardsDL

Equality is a big thing with Gnostic Christianity as we are universalists. We tie equality to righteousness. Gnostic Scriptures and Fragments: Epiphanes - On Righteousness That is what Jesus is saying below. 2 Jesus said, "Look, I will guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. 3For every female who makes herself male will enter the domain of Heaven." Something you should remember is that most of the old Gods, including the Jewish God which is the one in play here, were androgynous. RegardsDL Edited by Greatest I am, : No reason given.

Please read my last and wonder why the Gnostic Christian Jesus pushes the equality of all souls, while the Jesus you follow does not. That is undeniable when you look at his no-divorce policy for women while having a divorce policy for men. Genesis 3:16Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Before you try to correct me, remember that your own bible says that you are not fit to teach a man anything. How do you like your inequality as compared to a Gnostic Christian full equality? RegardsDL

The gnostic words imputed to Jesus simply are not Jesus. His sheep hear His voice and will not follow a fake Jesus.

Obviously you trust in your own personal interpretation of everything and think I ought to as well. The gnostic gospels are clearly silly made-up stuff, as a comparison with the Bible should show a fair-minded judge, that's why I reject them. I could write my own philosophy if that's all it takes, but I prefer to trust a revelation I can tell is honest narrative and inspired by God even if it says some things I wouldn't put in my own philosophy.

"as a comparison with the Bible should show a fair-minded judge," Is a judge who demand and accepts bribes and sacrifices a fair minded judge? RegardsDL

Total non sequitur.

It is a legitimate question.
Why did you run from it? Because you did not like your proper and moral answer when comparing it to your God's immoral actions. Right? If that is not the case, then give a simple yes or no. RegardsDL Edited by Greatest I am, : No reason given.

I didn't run from anything. It's a non sequitur. Totally unrelated to what I said. Apples and oranges. "A fair-minded judge" refers to any fair-minded person who reads the gnostic gospels and sees that they are fiction and completely inferior writing compared with the Bible.

In my opinion, Gnosticism makes man out to be bigger and more important and relevant to the universe than we are and also (Gnosticism) makes God the creator smaller and more easily understood than He likely is.
Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all. —RC Sproul "A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." —Mark Twain

The funny thing about that, Phat, is that what you seem to think Gnosticism is is exactly the opposite of what Gnosticism actually is.

"fiction". Absolutely. So are your core belief systems. All Gods, the way you use the word are fiction. Your belief is Jewish based and they are not literalists. Bill Moyers Journal . Watch & Listen | PBS Rabbi Hillel, the older contemporary of Jesus, said that when asked to sum up the whole of Jewish teaching, while he stood on one leg, said, "The Golden Rule. That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the Torah. And everything else is only commentary. Now, go and study it." Please listen as to what is said about literal reading. "Origen, the great second or third century Greek commentator on the Bible said that it is absolutely impossible to take these texts literally. You simply cannot do so. And he said, "God has put these sort of conundrums and paradoxes in so that we are forced to seek a deeper meaning." RegardsDL

A fair-minded comparison shows the gnostic texts to be fiction, of a pretty obvious and silly kind, and the Bible texts to be historical accounts.
