Genesis 8:11 says the dove returned with " a freshly plucked olive leaf". but Genesis 7:21 indicates the olive tree was submerged in water and Genesis 7:24 that it was submerged for five or more months. Now go an ask an arborist what condition the olive tree would be in at the end of five or more months underwater.
God could have just magically created the branch, there's no reason to limit it to a natural process.
Local flood perhaps, worldwide flood no way.
The story as a whole just doesn't make sense unless its a worldwide flood.
God was pissed at the world because of its wicked ways so he drowned everybody and everything to restart it all. You can't restart everything by killing off just a small portion of the world.

And we know for a fact, without a reasonable doubt, that the world has not been covered in water since humans have been around.
