Science-Scientists-Opinon and Facts
First it's necessary to state (even though I'm sure you are already aware) that there is a difference between what science says and what scientists say.
I happen to be a Christian and so I believe there is a GOD.
Other people believe there is no GOD.
Scientists come in all flavors, for example the scientist that developed the Big Bang theory (or as he called it, the primeval atom) was Abbe George Lematre, a Christian priest. The theory has been tested over the last 85 years and is well supported by the evidence.
What science can say are things like "all of the evidence shows the universe is very old and anyone who claims it is 6000 years old is simply wrong" or "the evidence conclusively shows that the flood as described in the Bible stories never happened and anyone who claims that it did is simply wrong".
Science can make statements like the two above because there is overwhelming evidence that those two statements are factual.
Scientists can say they are 100% sure that God does not exist but science is mute on the subject. What science can say is "So far no one has presented evidence that shows any likelihood that God exists."

True Christians
However I worded it like that because true christians, as I percieve them are taught from the bible which we believe to be God's word that we should love our neighbor.
As a Christian I need to point out that there is no such thing as "true Christians". Even the most vile and evil Christian is still a Christian and we need to acknowledge that right up front if we are to be honest with ourselves.
There are nice people and not nice people and the atheist that is taught by parents that we should love our neighbor is no different than if taught by some bible.

Re: True Christians
Not at all. Christianity is not at all like being a scientist or doctor or carpenter, rather it is like being an Elk or Mason or Republican or Democrat. If someone is a member of some Chapter of Club Christian then they are a Christian.

Sometimes I feel like the general population of unbelievers have taken a "south park" stance on christianity. I mean how is it ok to portray what some people view as the almighty god as a dufus comic figure? These are sensitive topics and could carry weighty or even violent consequences if things get too out of hand.
Of course some stories in the Bible portray what some people view as the almighty god as a dufus comic figure.

Sure many might disagree
Sure many might disagree but the stories still say what they say.

Naturally we got here naturally.
What I mean is that most aethiests, believe that there is a scientific explaination for why we got here.
Why mention "atheists". As a Christian I conclude that there is a scientific explanation for why we got here.

Re: Naturally we got here naturally.
A scientific explanation is an explanation. What other kind of explanation could there be? Magic?
Magic explains nothing.
Goddidit explains nothing.

Re: Naturally we got here naturally.
How does "goddidit" explain why God did it?

Re: Naturally we got here naturally.
If that makes you happy that's fine but it still explains nothing.
