...and every post better than the last. I can't wait to see what you produce by 10,000.

And a happy belated 2.5K posts to your good self. Looking forward to your approach to the 3,000 landmark.
I still look back on our limerickisms (along with various other less meaningful exchanges) with fond memories......... There once was a man with 8,00 postsWho didn't believe in gods, werwolves or ghosts.... (**Straggler strangles himself in a bid to stop the inevitable limerickisms that will ensue if he lets himself continue**)

I too have always enjoyed our exchanges. They are great for the "little grey cells'".

For 8,000 posts I will have to really treat myself and crack open a bottle of vintage Blue Nun. Nice choice for a poster wannabe. Nice milestone. I was at The Thirsty Pagan last night and had a nice India Pale Ale. I had one in honor of your accomplishment.

Straggler writes: ........8,00 posts and cheers to all. ...... Congratulations!! It appears, from this post, that your 7.8% Guinness celebration had commenced as you typed. You've been a busy EvC fellow, but nothing compare to Jar who apparently feels the need to respond to,almost everything posted which is related to his messages, whether significant or not. You are a model evolution apologist in debating creationists. For the most part, your arguments are good spirited as well as significant to the topic at hand. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. Congrats Straggler! I may be still somewhat inactive as a member until recently, but I usually like yours posts.
My own post count is still small, but I hope it will grow into a impressive number over time as well. I hope I may reach 100 posts this month. Baby steps first! Also, Buzsaw happens to be close to the 9000 mark..

In EvC Awards Chuck asks:
Chuck writes: Best overall poster Best debater Most intelligent Most potential Most sarcastic Best thread starter Most laid back Funniest Etc etc...just an idea. Maybe it's been done before. We could have a separate catagory for evolutionists and creationists for all awards and the winners in each catagory face off. And he got got directed to this thread.
Chuck writes: Maybe his version could be updated with the newest members? Good idea Chuck. Feel free (anyone) to post your nominations. I'll ponder and post mine soon.

Well I've been thinking about this and I'm afraid that my answers are probably going to be much the same as years gone by....
Chuck writes: Best overall poster On most subjects I'll read, enjoy and learn something from posts by Mod, Rahvin, Crashfrog, Rrhain, Dwise and a few others. But I would give the title of best overall poster to Mod. I've been inspired to investigate many philosophical issues as a result of his contributions and think that the epistemological areas he excels at underpin the entire EvC debate.
Chuck writes: Best debater In terms of just being impossible to breakdown Rrhain is a good debater. This is partly because he very effectively attacks a position without explicitly taking one of his own. I can appreciate why this isn't to everyone's taste.... But it is effective. Dr Adequate has the ability to make his opponents look utterly ridiculous in a way that I wish I could sometimes emulate. Dr A is probably the best debator here to my mind.
Chuck writes: Most intelligent Fuck. That's a hard one. All of the people already mentioned above are obviously intelligent. Maybe not as intelligent as some of them think they are... But clever bastards all the same. More overlooked members like Omni and Granny Magda are also notably intelligent. Then there is "most intelligent" in the sense of being "most knowledgeable" where members like Wounded King, Cavediver and Son Goku are indisputable masters of their complex specialist fields. Percy, NoNukes and a whole raft of others are obvioulsy no fools. Overall (and as much as I think it will swell his already swollen head) I am gonna say Dr A again.
Chuck writes: Most potential Where did Stephen Push go? Panda - No doubt a popular choice with you eh Chuck - Who I think could successfully play a more prominent role as a main protagonist in debates rather than the supporting role he usually chooses to take.
Chuck writes: Most sarcastic Dr A. Again. Dark Oni maybe....
Chuck writes: Best thread starter Me. Well I think that the threads I start are the ones most blatantly interesting. But then I suppose I would wouldn't I....? But seriously look at the list of threads I have started. Only a fool would disagree. Obviously.
Chuck writes: Most laid back Oni. Phat. Xongsmith kinda...... Catholic Scientist in a rather non-laid-back way that I still quite enjoy.
Chuck writes: Funniest Oni, Dr A. CS. Cavediver. Lyx2no. Oni on form still makes me spit beer all over my keyboard in a way nobody else does. That'll do for now. What about you Chuck (and others)? Edited by Straggler, : Stephen Push NOT Stephen Byers

Thank you for the nomination, but I doubt I will ever progress beyond my 'supporting role'. Panda - ... - Who I think could successfully play a more prominent role as a main protagonist in debates rather than the supporting role he usually chooses to take.I seem unable to write long pieces of prose and I am frequently envious of the likes of the likes of Rahvin, Granny, etc. whom are able to write many paragraphs but still manage to avoid any waffle. I definitely find that I get more from this site than I am able to contribute. But that is probably why I like this forum so much. But, as my contribution to these awards, I would like to nominate yourself as "Most Tenacious (but not in a stupid Buzsaw way)".*gives Straggler a rosette* Tradition and heritage are all dead people's baggage. Stop carrying it!

On most subjects I'll read, enjoy and learn something from posts by Mod, Rahvin, Crashfrog, Rrhain, Dwise and a few others. What an august and esteemed company in which to find myself mentioned! These, and you, are some of my "must-reads" as well. Cheers, Straggler, and thanks for the kudos.

Being name-dropped in that company is an amazing compliment, and you and they are all on my must-read-posters list as well. For funniest though...
Oni, Dr A. CS. Cavediver. Lyx2no. Oni on form still makes me spit beer all over my keyboard in a way nobody else does. I have to disagree, only because I think Modulus won the prize for this year in the Republican primary thread, regarding Santorum's primary campaign:
Can we not force Santorum to carry his campaign to full term? The human understanding when it has once adopted an opinion (either as being the received opinion or as being agreeable to itself) draws all things else to support and agree with it. - Francis Bacon "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers A world that can be explained even with bad reasons is a familiar world. But, on the other hand, in a universe suddenly divested of illusions and lights, man feels an alien, a stranger. His exile is without remedy since he is deprived of the memory of a lost home or the hope of a promised land. This divorce between man and his life, the actor and his setting, is properly the feeling of absurdity. — Albert Camus

Panda writes: Thank you for the nomination, but I doubt I will ever progress beyond my 'supporting role'. A role you are very good at. I didn't mean it disparagingly at all.
Panda writes: *gives Straggler a rosette* I will wear it proudly.
Panda writes: I seem unable to write long pieces of prose and I am frequently envious of the likes of the likes of Rahvin, Granny, etc. whom are able to write many paragraphs but still manage to avoid any waffle. Yup. And on the theistic side I would add GDR as a favourite of mine.
