Re: You're about to cross the line
It's "lose weight".
"Loose" is what your clothes are after the weight loss.
I wrote 'lose'. Percy must have gone in and changed it to 'loose' to make me look bad or something.

Re: You're about to cross the line
I don't deny that it's successful, but the premise of the show, that of it being a documaentary of office life
It's a MOCKumentary. You do know it's fake, right?
It's supposed to run long, as a successful show. And it's a true testament to the ability of the AMERICAN writers to take Gervais' simple idea and create the monster that the US Office has become. You're welcome, Brits.
What about Red Dwarf? It ran for 9 seasons in the UK. The American version didn't get much past the pilot.
Or Doctor Who...I'm not a huge fan, but considering its been on the air for longer than any American TV show except for Soap Operas, it would seem to be the "best" TV show.
I'm sorry but these shows are what I like to refer to as British garbage.

Re: You're about to cross the line
Yes, I know it's fake, but the length of the show just exposes the fact that its fake. When a parody hits you over the head with the fact that its not real, it loses its parodic credentials.
It's like you don't even care that Pam and Jim fell in love and had a baby.
I'll just assume once again that you have no clue what you're talking abut and let the 100's of 1000's of Emmy's the Office has won speak for itself.
Then the authors are lazy. If they wanted it to run long, they could have come up with a premise that fit a long running show, or even made it a plot point or something.
Well, like I said, it was a stupid British idea. The point I'm making is that the US made the show successful inspite of the moronic premise that Gervais came up with.
The folks on the show, actors and writers, are just trying to keep a job. And they've done amazing work.
You DO know that Ricky Gervais was one of the executive directors of the US version, right?
PRODUCER...executive producer, not director. There have been many directors of the episodes. ALL Americans though, as it should be.
I figured that, you're more of a Keeping Up With The Kardashians person.
Best show on TV right now, thank you very much.

But most of us are training every day at the pub.
You know excessive abuse of alcohol is nothing to celebrate. It's a well known fact that it leads to weight gain. And that's a horrible thing to have happen.

Switching teams?
Creating. From the ground up.
We'll be called: The people who hate the people that hate America, or TPWHTPTHA for short.
While I don't doubt your team's salary cap is a lot higher than mine . . . I would like to sleep at night.
Our blankets are made from real American flags; you'll sleep like a fetus in the womb of America.

Re: Alcohol Abuse
This is getting scary, Oni
Isn't it.
You're quite Biblical on alcohol.
You know it's funny you say that, I usually get that from my friends. It's the few times I agree with the Bible.
It warns about the abuse of it but sanctions moderate use of it in both the Ot and NT scriptures. King David had his wine cellars, Jesus, who was not a teetotaler himself, turned the water into wine at the wedding feast and the apostle Paul advised a little of it for health. Of course, unfortunately, most of our beers and wines have nitrites and sulfate's in them to speed up the process for profit.
Well I can't say I disagree, only that I'd add that Paul should have also warned of weight gain from the high sugar drinks.
Wifie and I drink organic non sulfate wines which have become more affordable in some of the city stores. I also drink a Rolling Rock beer in the bottle a day or every other day. I mix it with pure carrot juice and sometimes with our home processed wild grape and elderberry juice, etc so as to make a natural soda pop.
Sounds good, throw in some whey protein and some creatine monohydrate and you'd add some muscle and reduce fat. It can work two ways.
Abuse of it also leads to powerful addiction. Many a person has lost their health and productive life by it. Therefore abstinence is the best for the weak willed.
The British seem to be very weak willed when it comes to alcohol. They have the highest alcoholism rates and coincidently are getting heavier and heavier. And I think their homicide rate is at record highs.
I never drink before driving.
This is usually something the weak willed do.
